The directions were way too complicated, though I understood them after we got there. GPS took us one way. Directions to us another way. The strip of studios was hidden in plain sight. Plus, not the property’s fault: A huge event was being set up in the lawn right outside our property so parking was virtually impossible. There were no photographs of the outside of the property on the VRBO site, so we had no clue what we were looking for. Garden studio? Garden… There is a garden outside… These studios are visually in terrible repair from the outside. The iron patio bench outside our door was uncomfortable in the extreme, and probably lead based paint was flaking off it as we sat on it. The outside light was inoperable. Inside was comfortable enough, I guess. I mean it wasn’t like we were cooking for a group of people so the coffee pot worked, the microwave worked, the toaster worked, but not all at the same time as we have to unplug and re-plug whatever device we were choosing to use at any given moment. But the property was convenient for what we wanted to do, which was to attend the Mendocino Film Festival and we were successful in that and had a comfortable enough place to crash each of our two nights. It was clean. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom teeny but big enough. Shower adequate. Would we stay there again? Possibly. I think it was pricey for what it was but that’s Mendocino.
