Tin ceilings, hardwood floors, and a brand new oversized main level handicapped accessible master bathroom are only a few of the stunning features of the Bank Haus. Bring your friends for a wine country getaway, ride the Katy Trail, or celebrate a wedding at one of the nearby wedding venues. Lake Creek Winery and Boone Monument Village are only 2 miles away. Located on the Katy Trail in Marthasville, Missouri, the Bank Haus is in Missouri wine country and less than an hour from St. Louis. Bike rentals are nearby, the best pizza in the county is steps from the door, and wineries are a short bike ride down the Katy Trail (or a 2 minute drive down the road). USA Today Travel thinks we're pretty cool as well - The Bank Haus was featured as one of the coolest vacation rentals in the United States! THE SPACE The Bank Haus is 2 levels with the main level being handicapped accessible. It sleeps a total of 10 people and has 4 bedrooms, 2-1/2 bathrooms, and an open living, dining, and kitchen area, as well as a washer/dryer in a vault. The Bank Haus is dog friendly for pre-approved dogs only. For large groups, reserve both the Katy Haus and Bank Haus as they are next door to one another. MAIN LEVEL The living area on the main level is an open floor plan showcasing the tin ceilings and hardwood floors. The great room has a luxury king size sleeper sofa and a pair of velvet green chairs. The dining area boasts an 8 foot antique dining table possibly from the United States Post Office. The full kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals, including place settings, pots and pans, wine glasses, and both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. The main level bedroom has a stunning elegant king size bed with crisp white linens from The Distinguished Guest. The full bathroom is handicapped accessible with grab bars, a shower seat, and a low profile shower. The smaller vault is now a beauty bar, complete with mirrors and plenty of outlets for curling irons and blow dryers for getting ready for a wedding or a day at the local wineries. The main level also has a small half bathroom with a working antique toilet and sink. SECOND LEVEL Up a flight of over 100 year old steep stairs, the 3 bedrooms each have exposed brick walls, natural light, and king size beds. The front bedroom also amazing light, and the back bedroom has a bathroom with a shower. Note: there are only showers and no tubs in the Bank Haus. OUTDOOR SPACE Our backyard is completely fenced with a privacy fence and includes a fire pit, Adirondack chairs, twinkle lights and a private hot tub. We also have a shed for your bikes if you'd like to store them there (shared with the Katy Haus next door). WINERIES Lake Creek Winery is only 2 miles down the road. Blumenhoff Winery in Dutzow is 6 miles by bike, and Augusta Brew Haus is 13 miles by bike. WEDDINGS Are you attending a wedding nearby at Boone Monument Village (2 minutes), Lake Creek Winery (2 minutes), or in the nearby town of Washington (8 minutes)? We are happy to host you! We loved the history of the Bank Haus. My elderly mom and dad, three of my grown children, and my boyfriend and I stayed in Marthasville for a few days for my niece’s wedding. It is handicapped accessible and made for a comfortable stay for my parents. There was a tornado warning one night and we were able to take cover in the two vaults. I had 4 couples all over age of 70\. The stairs to second floor was difficult and the up stairs bathroom being in one bed room was difficult but we managed. The kitchen had every thing and I mean every thing. Location to wineries was top notch. Definitely off the beaten path (an hour outside St. Louis) and kinda weird area, but we arrived late and grabbed pizza before the place next door closed. Very clean and nicely decorated. It felt remote but not in the middle of nowhere. The decor and arrangement of the house are fantastic. Very comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a great kitchen/living room area. The outside does not have the best curb appeal...HOWEVER, one inside, we were so happy we stayed here. The home has everything you need and is super comfortable. The uniqueness of the house made our stay fantastic. We had a slight issue with the heat, but it was resolved quickly by the owner. Definitely would stay again! ##### monika m.
