The unit itself is dated and in need of maintenance and would suit a family that doesn't want pristine accommodation. Definitely wouldn't recommend for families with young toddlers as the staircase is quite steep and doesn't have handrails. Plus the upstairs is a mezzanine with 2 bedrooms while the main bdrm is downstairs. Young children would have to be supervised at all times upstairs, as the balcony can be a falling hazard for young climbers. Also the ensuite is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as the shower is over a deep bath and can be quite difficult to get in and out of. It could probably benefit from having a non-slip mat in the bath as it does get quite slippery. The kitchen was well appointed and there are plenty of games and some toys to keep kids occupied. The location is great, on a quiet backstreet a short walk from the shops and restaurants. There are 2 sitting areas so great if you have kids. Really Awesome location in Margaret river town - restaurants, grocery stores and shops all walking distance- but also conveniently located as a base to explore nearby vineyards/beaches/playgrounds. Host provided all the amenities one would need for normal day to day needs - there were even good puzzles and some kids books/ toys. Beds were comfortable and even had heating pads- which came very useful the first night when the temperature was quite chilly.
