It is especially impressive at night when it is illuminated and lights up the surrounding streets. The Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo is a short 10-minute drive north of downtown Montevideo. Several public buses provide easy access. The market is in a less desirable area of the city so it’s advisable to take a taxi if visiting after dark. While here you might want to visit the nearby Palacio Legislativo (The Legislative Palace). It’s one of Montevideo’s most architecturally-impressive buildings.
