The full kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, including a regular coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, gas stove, and refrigerator. There is plenty of seating at the kitchen counter with 4 bar stools, perfect for casual meals or morning coffee. This charming rental accommodates up to 4 guests and 2 dogs, with 1 bedroom featuring a queen bed and a computer nook equipped with a desk and chair, ideal for those needing a quiet workspace. The garage has been transformed into a fun game room featuring a twin bed with a twin trundle, a ping pong table, and a table with seating perfect for playing card games or board games. A full bathroom with a walk-in shower and outdoor shower (closes down in the fall) is also available. We had an amazing stay with our dog and one year old in tow! Michiā€™s base camp was perfect for a family getaway with easy access to road and mountain biking, hiking and a quick drive into town. Super baby and dog friendly! There were so many thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. Our hosts also provided great ideas of places to visit and see! The location and size of the property made it seem like we had our own little private section of the woods. Every morning and evening we had a front row seat for nature viewing, watching wild turkeys and deer wandering through the yard. It was early spring so we spent time hiking on the nature trails at Sleeping Bear Dunes (15 minutes away) and hope on our next visit that we can take advantage of the mountain biking at Palmer Woods (5 minutes away). Even in rainy weather we were able to enjoy this beautiful location. The hosts have provided a ping pong table and board games that my teenage son had a blast playing and I enjoyed curling up with a book by the fireplace. The hosts did all the research for us and left suggestions for the best restaurants and vineyards in the area. I also enjoy cooking some of our meals and appreciated the full kitchen. Itā€™s the first time cooking on vacation that I didnā€™t want for anything including all types of pans, mixing bowls, and measuring cups. We had a great time and I highly recommend Michiā€™s Base Camp!!! We will definitely book this location again and again! ##### Amy W. Jun 22, 2025 #### If we could give Michiā€™s Base Camp 11 stars out of five, we would!! Loved it! Michiā€™s Base Camp is a beautiful and comfortable home close to Glenn Arbor. As branded, it is extremely dog friendly, and even has a large fenced in play area for those of us with imperfect recall from our furry friends. There are lovely forest paths behind the house to explore and the downtown area is close by and has lots of restaurants, shops, and bars. Super close to large beautiful lakes, bike trails, and running paths. The owners also have a collaboration with the Blustone Vineyards - guests receive a gift box with two bottles of wine - we went to the winery and had a great time! Finally, the amenities at the house include a fire pit and back porch with gas heaters and a solo stove - perfect for hanging out in the evenings to watch the stars.
