It's central to so many places and activities we enjoyed, whether strolling through Manzanita, eating at great restaurants, or taking a hike through the woods to to beach. Oct 6, 2024 #### Perfect home away from home This house was just perfect! It was just the two of us but can easily accommodate a small family with two bedrooms (one with two twins) and two bathrooms. Full kitchen that is easy to use and has the necessary things for making meals, and a dishwasher! Great view, loved the hot tub and the ease of accessing the beach and local towns for shopping and meals. The driveway is the only negative, it's very steep and it turned back more than 90 degrees from the street, which is only wide enough for one car already. A small car would probably not make it without scraping, and in my full-size truck I had to back up the driveway because of the steep turn. The one time I did a multi-point-turn using just a couple feet of a neighbor's driveway to turn around to go up the driveway nose-first, that person came out holding her phone and I think she was going to call the cops on me or something, so don't use the driveways. Once there, the door combo lock wouldn't accept the security code. We've used this type of lock before, so we're no stranger to it's quirks. We were on hold with VRBO for more than 10 minutes. They gave us the location/combo for the master key and we were able to use that for our whole stay as the electronic one never worked for us. The house was very nicely furnished and clean. Some VRBO properties provide a little welcome refreshment package of coffe, wine, or something. This one did not. There were a couple of spices and some artificial sweetener in a cupboard. The beds were super comfortable with quality linens. There were only two bath towels between the two bathrooms, but we found the rest -- damp -- in the dryer in the unlocked laundry room next to the garage. It was a little irrating to have to finish drying, fold, and put away laundry. The master bathroom had a broken shower door and a make-do shower curtain as a temporary replacement. The cord for the venetian blinds was broken, as was one in the bedroom. The hot tub was clean and inviting! The deck was sturdy, but needed some maintenance as the boards were chipped and needed stain. There was a table, chairs, and two loungers, but no grill. It would have been nice to have had a map showing how to walk down to the beach as there was no clear path to use. Overall, I probably wouldn't rent this property again. ##### Anmarie M. Loved starting and ending the day sitting or lounging on the deck, listening to the ocean and the birds in the nearby trees. Be warned that the driveway is a steep incline. We learned to swing wide in our vehicle to stop scraping the bottom. Low clearance car will not make it. I sent a notification and pictures but nothing was done. I also asked for a late checkout because we were traveling with my four year old but was denied.
