The woodburning fireplace was great with the cold weather. The place gets quite warm when the sun is out and shining, though boxed fans were available to place in front of windows at night to cool the place down. I stayed here with my kids for a long weekend, the upstairs loft bedroom is beautiful (though doesn't have a door / is open to below) but gets gorgeous morning light through the skylight so I put my older kid up there so the light wouldn't wake up the baby. Downstairs bedroom is a bit small and dark (good for the light sensitive sleeper!). I found it to be an easy 15 minute walk through the beautiful wooded part of town to either grocery store, and could walk or very-short-drive down to the beach each day. I love the part of manzanita that is up in the trees, we saw a deer right outside one foggy morning.
