Mitten’s Edge is the real deal

Amazing everything

As described and much more, amazing property, amazing views and sunset, amazing beach front. Very quiet, serene setting, house itself is super legit, all amenities you will ever need either for a couple days or a couple of weeks. Family Wedding Stay

My family stayed here on a family wedding weekend. The view of Lake Michigan was amazing, there were beds for everyone and they had a cool fire pit and shuffleboard court. An awesome family vacation spot!

Wonderful place to stay

We had a wonderful family reunion. The house location was better than we could have planned - a short drive to Manistee and to a grocery store. The rental had its own beachfront. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and the kitchen was well set up. There was a great backyard outdoor area with a grill, fire pit and plenty of seating. If we have an opportunity to return to Manistee, this will be the first place we would choose to rent.

Amazing view

Mittens Edge provides an amazing view of Lake Michigan! The porch is amazing for morning coffee and evening games. If you’re looking for the perfect place to relax and recharge this is the place! We will definitely be back!

Great get-away

Perfect Week at the Lake

Beautifully decorated lake cottage! Lots of wonderful communal space both inside and out. AMAZING views that were great for the soul. Our family of 9 had a great time. We found lots of great rocks and sea glass and even some Petosky stones. Shuffleboard, corn hole, and the arcade were a big hit with the kids.

Wonderful lake house getaway

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property during this 4th of July week! Watching the sunset every night from atop the bluff was amazing. We also enjoyed strolling the beach, playing shuffleboard, playing board games, and playing arcade games in the basement! The kitchen was fully-stocked with all the gear you need to prepare meals throughout your stay. The host is very responsive and helpful, so you know he cares about you enjoying your stay! Overall, good value for our lake house getaway this year! 😎 Only two knocks on this place: queen bed in bunk room is very stiff, and cleanliness could be improved upon arrival (bathrooms and basement had cobwebs/spiders that we took care of).

Lake Trip 2023

This beautiful property is located just above Lake Michigan on a bluff that offers the most spectacular views of the lake. The outdoor setting is amazing with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. The inside of the cottage is clean and well stocked with everything you need. Very kid friendly with lots of books and games. Also books and games for the adults as well. You can’t go wrong reserving this amazing property. Thank you Fountain Family for a great week.

Lovely Views

This was a well stocked, clean cottage, right on Lake Michigan with your own beach access. The house itself is small, but has everything you would need to stay with a family, including multiple smart TV's so your teens can watch what they want! We really appreciated all the pillows (each bed had at least two), the shuffleboard court, and the sunroom which was a big hang out spot for our family. My favourite spot was to sit on the outdoor couch, in the shade and read my book while listening to the waves. We also enjoyed some truly spectacular sunsets while roasting marshmallows in the fire pit.

Beautiful Home and Lake View

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful and exceptionally clean home! If you like to cook, the kitchen has high quality cookware and the grill overlooks the lake. There are a wide variety of games for children (and adults) of all ages. The different Rubik’s Cubes placed in the living room were a really nice touch! The owner’s attention to detail was evident throughout the home in many ways. There is easy beach access and it was safe for children to wade and play in the lake. The house was a really nice space for our family of five to relax in without feeling on top of each other. We highly recommend this property!

Grand View from the Edge

A very good stay. A well-maintained and well-equipped home. Two small items: the bed linens were damp when we arrived. Mice were spotted the first day. We got traps and nabbed 2! The biggest missing amenity for this house is AC. Some of the nights were quite warm, even with fans. The owners were very responsive to a message we sent about a door lock not working. Easily fixed with their advice. Thanks! Don Troyer

Great location. Was not that clean

The house was not clean when we arrived. The bedsheets were dirty, stained and had hair on them. When we went downstairs, there was cobwebs everywhere and several spiders in the shower. Be careful when you rent here as the listing states two bathrooms, but the second one is in the basement. The basement has low ceilings and is only partially fixed up, so not the nicest to go down there in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. They’re also cobwebs in the sunroom over the table and lamp area. I contacted the owner and she initially apologized, but then said the stains on the sheets were probably just rust stains from the washer. She then sent over a cleaning crew to clean the beds and the basement. That night the cleaning crew came out to the house. They were very friendly and professional. They ended up changing and washing all the sheets and bedding for us. They also went to the store to buy bug spray and new bedspreads as the all of them in the house were dirty. They spent 3 1/2 hours cleaning and setting up the rooms for us which was very helpful. But it was after 11 o’clock at night by the time we got to bed. We trip the breaker in the basement when we ran the microwave and coffee maker at the same time so be careful. Several of the dishes and glasses we used were dirty, and had to be re-cleaned before we used them. The location was stunning and beautiful. Amazing trip!

Five stars, would absolutely book Mitten’s Edge again. Gorgeous views and a lovely cabin to see them from. Only hitch was getting the codes for a few of the external doors, but the owners were prompt in responding to my texts and calls. Don’t hesitate, this place is a gem!

Tranquil Getaway

Where do I start? From the moment we pulled up, we all felt right at home. The chairs facing the water, all of the glass windows in the sunroom and the charm of the house. We immediately felt the stress of our lives melt away! The beds were so comfortable. I haven't slept that well in years. We spent our days down by the water and up by the house playing shuffleboard tournaments. We spent our evenings at the fire pit. We ventured out a few times to eat in town and explore Traverse City. We will definitely be back! Wonderful hosts!

Fantastic property

Responsive owners, Updated cabin, very clean and comfortable, amazing sunset and water views since on bluff, great beach with easy access. Cabin has well stocked kitchen, super cool arcade games, fast Wi-Fi. Great outdoor area with shuffleboard and comfortable seating, gas grill.

Great House, Great Beach and Great Location

We spent a week and had a great time. The house is nice and has everything you will need. It is very comfortable. The private beach is easily accessible and the patio is perfect for an afternoon nap or just watching the waves. Manistee was a good central location for day trips when not wanting to hang at the house - it is a little over an hour from Traverse City and just north of Ludington (about 1/2 hour away). If you want to go a little farther Mac Woods Dune ride is a must. Manistee also has a nice downtown area to explore. We all had a wonderful week and would not hesitate staying here again.
