Sleeping Arrangements - Main level bedroom - Full; Main level bedroom - Full \*\* Extensive Remodel completed in Spring of 2024: All new kitchen, bathrooms, etc. Everything new! Any feedback/reviews posted before Summer 2024 would not accurately reflect the fantastic upgrades now in place! Note that Cottage does not allow pets following Spring 2024 remodel. You’ll fall in love when you walk through the door! This single level home is ideally located within walking distance to Lake Michigan! Just steps from popular Red Szymarek Park with Frisbee Disc Golf and a little over a half mile to Downtown Manistee and 5th Avenue Beach. Air Conditioning is provided via a min-split in the living room. All new bathrooms with a spacious shower with hand held and rain style shower heads. Comfortable seating, interesting antiques, telescope, books, puzzles and board games available. The natural gas firepit on the porch will make the cool evenings even better. Feel free to make use of the off-street parking next to the home for boats/trailers! AMENITIES INCLUDE: washer/dryer, hair dryer, private deck and outdoor seating with cushions, charcoal grill, golf discs, Wi-Fi, DVD and two Roku Smart TVs The kitchen is fully stocked for everyday meal prep (with only a stovetop, no oven). Dishes, pots and pans, silverware, glasses, cups, etc. Drip/K Cup combination coffee maker available for guest use. New Nectar mattresses, multiple outlets for charging electronics and remote ceiling fans in both bedrooms. Also included: bed linens, bath towels, basic cleaning supplies, and soaps (not personal soaps), and a starter set of paper products. LOCATION: Home is ideally located in a residential neighborhood near Lake Michigan and Downtown Manistee. 0.6 miles to Downtown. 0.7 miles to popular 5th Avenue Beach. Manistee River behind the property. Located about an hour south of Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Arrival details are sent prior to your check-in date and will include the exact location of the property, parking and entry information. Guests will have a private, secure entrance and the rental is not shared by owners or other guests. DEPARTURE: We do have a very short checklist we ask renters follow upon departure. It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off, and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help staff immensely. Please know that all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as required in the posted cancellation policy. For safety reasons, there may be external security cameras in use. The kitchen remodel was also nice - all worked well - sinks, shower, toilets, etc. However, the wood laminate floors need to be cleaned thoroughly throughout the cottage. We also had to clean the deck and the chairs on the deck so we could use them. My husband had to clean the garbage container because is smelled so bad and it was parked next to the deck. We actually moved it away from the deck while cleaning until the smell was no longer a problem. Also recommend an update on the TV - Roku TV was challenging to operate and it had a constant automated voice that spoke throughout while in use. A comfortable couch for the living room is must- current couch is small and outdated and very uncomfortable. However, my husband and I were quite disappointed to find out no one had been there in a while because upon opening the door to the rental we were immediately hit with the overwhelming smell of dampness, mildew & mold smell. It was rainy & cold outside so it was a bummer that we had to open all the windows to air out the cottage. The toilet pipes also need to be fixed because everytime you flushed the toilets the pipes would whistle & scream quite loudly for a minute following the flush. There were also many many spider webs everywhere in the cottage. With saying all of this, I would still recommend this rental property because it is cute, it comes with all the necessities one would need while staying in Manistee. It is also super close to a park, Lake Michigan, downtown restaurants & shopping. This little cottage as friendly neighbors and the wildlife 20 feet from the backyard is amazing! In the week we were there we seen a total of 26 deer, 3 black squirrels & 6 raccoons. The deer would get so close to us that we could reach out & touch them. The property owner also was accommodating to my husband's & my service dogs, which was greatly appreciated. Yes there is room for improvement with this property but if you can look past the few issues, it really is a wonderful stay. ##### Keilee M.
