Special mention to Ivan at the reception - he was incredibly helpful throughout my stay, always going the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. The location in Gzira is perfect - walking distance to Sliema waterfront, great cafes nearby, and a calm neighborhood at the same time. I'll definitely be coming back in March for an extended stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable base in central Malta." It was spacious, clean and quiet. I arrived during Storm Harry, so it was a lovely retreat when I couldn't leave the hotel. The birthday package came with fizz and was bright and colourful (I would change the dessert as it wasn't very nice). I liked the spa facilities despite missing out on the outdoor pools due to the weather (January for you, so this was expected!) and only wish the 'adults only' policy for the indoor pool was upheld. 3 days in, the room next to me flooded and the water seeped into my room, soaking my laptop charger and also rapidly flooding. At first, the response to this at reception wasn't the best, with no apology and lacking action and direction. Thankfully, when I came back down with my things haphazardly packed, Santiago kindly dealt with the room change. I received an upgrade to a large room, my dinner bill at the restaurant was paid for while I waited and he also made sure this new room was redecorated with the birthday details. So thank you 1926 team for rescuing things and making me feel happy to have booked!" I didnt use it but the kitchenette was a very good addition. The whole hotel is well looked after and very comfortable. It must be amazing in summer with the rooftop pools. The spa was lovely and well maintained. The gym looked decent but i didn't use it. The breakfast was plentuful and well organised. Also i had the evening buffet once during my stay and it was lovely. I would love to stay at the Solano again in the future."
