Several cabins fairly close by on the property. A thicket of trees separates the property from a golf course and it is a couple of blocks from a highway, so not exactly secluded. That isn't necessarily a negative. I felt safe there and it was easy to find with the directions from the host It was a quiet environment and very pleasant to sit out on the deck which was shaded by a tree at Cabin 2\. Unlike some of the other cabins, mine had only two steps up to the deck, so access was quite easy. Had a nice stone fireplace that would've been cozy if I was there in winter. As it was in the mid- nineties. I appreciated the AC. Had everything I needed for making simple meals. Bed was very comfortable, and was a great base for day hikes to many different areas of the Shawnee, not just Giant City. Close to places to get gas, groceries, too. We needed a spot for a central hub to fall asleep in between youth camp activities. I will say that the couch and chair were pretty stiff but not unbearable. I know after a few rentals, this host will be happy to replace them. They had just about everything that you need. The cabin was clean and cozy, thought it could be buggy due to the location but not one in sight. We used the pullout couch bed which was good for our needs but the mattress is thin so it was helpful we brought a second comforter to add more cushioning. Also, the host was very attentive and responsive. Place had everything we needed and I would definitely stay again! ##### Katie B.
