Sit on the covered deck in one of the many deck chairs with your morning coffee or evening cocktail and soak in all the nature around you. With very few neighbors, this location is quiet and peaceful. Maggie Valley conveniences, activities, and outdoor recreation all abound within easy reach of the home. The bunkroom is perfect for younger travelers with provided toys and books. The house is on the main road up to Cataloochee Ski Area, just a few minutes from the slopes. The snow tubing hill is only a couple minutes down the mountain, and elk often congregate in the nearby meadow. Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is just a short drive from the home. Lake Junaluska is also an easy drive away, as is Soco Falls, Waterrock Knob Visitor Center on the Parkway, the Balsam Mountain entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park, and the casino in Cherokee. Downtown Asheville is an easy day trip option. Steep driveway but we did find in my expedition! House has everything you need for everything! Cooking, baths, washing dishes to washing clothes! It had just about anything you could possibly need for your stay. The fire pit area is very nice along with a great view of the night sky. They provided wood and enough chairs for everyone in your party. They also have it priced pretty reasonable.Cons: The driveway is very steep and hard to make a right hand turn into it, if you have a larger vehicle and not mentioned anywhere in the description. They don't clean out the bottom of the gas BBQ grill, fire hazard. When the AC quit working, they weren't very eager to fix it. I almost felt like they were trying to blame us for it being broken. The room with the bunk beds is cramped for 4 people.
