A 3 bedroom pole house, Castaway is set amongst coastal native trees, has sheltered deck areas, a cosy fireplace, WIFI, HD Smart TV and includes a late check out for weekend stays. Pup-friendly too for a small dog with the leash free beach zone opposite. Guests can lounge on the rear deck spotting local birdlife, enjoy a beach stroll to local cafes, walk the Bouddhi coast or take an easy coastal drive to explore nearby Avoca, Killcare and Terrigal beaches. Castaway is a very popular dog friendly property as the designated leash-free beach zone is from the Macmasters Beach path opposite and north to the lagoon and south Copa beach areas. Pup is permitted inside the house (rules apply) and the rear deck is suitable when out and about as it is fully secured with roof covering. Guest must bring own pet bedding. An additional pet stay cleaning fee ($75) applies per pet stay. Best suited for a small dog. Please note that the yard area around the property is not fenced. Sorry, we no longer accept cat stays. LOCATION Castaway is conveniently located across from the Macmasters Beach access path. Walk south to the patrolled section of the surf beach, where there is also a shallow swimming baths perfect for families with babies and young children, a playground and a super friendly cafe. Copacabana Beach is also just an easy beach stroll north from the path and also offers a patrolled beach, surfing, great cafes and convenient shops. The unique Cochrane Lagoon is positioned between the two beaches and is an easy 3 min walk. It's perfect for kayaking, exploring the wetlands, fishing and for chilling on its banks feeding the ducks and swans. Walk along the beach in either direction to enjoy breakfast, take-aways for beach picnics or dinner at beach-side cafes at Macmasters and Copacabana beaches or just drinks at the Macmasters Beach Surf Club cafe on Friday and Sunday evenings. Handy to amenities including a bakery, grocery and bottle shop, chemist, hair and beauty salons and a newsagent. Tip..... Take a walk along the beach at dusk and enjoy drinks at the surf club at Macmasters beach on Fri and Sun evenings or wood-fire pizza and tapas at Copacabana beach as you watch the sunset. Macmasters Beach is a comfortable and scenic 90 min drive north of Sydney CBD on the M1 freeway. The Kincumber Shopping Centre is a good stop for last minute supplies and has a large supermarket, liquor store, chemist, a great green grocer and butcher. There is also an excellent IGA with bottle shop at the smaller Kerta Rd shopping complex near Mitre 10 a bit closer to Macmasters Beach. On the final stretch along the Scenic Road towards Macmasters Beach is a fresh seafood outlet but check opening hrs. If you want to explore further, Bouddhi National Park is nearby providing unique and accessible coastal walking trails and swimming spots. You can drive there and park or walk via the trails that start in the streets behind the surf club. It is great for viewing whales and for swims at Little Beach and Maitland Bay Beach (both unpatrolled). Further along the Killcare peninsula is Killcare beach and Hardy's Bay - a 15 minute drive away with interesting fashion and homeware/gift shopping, renowned Bells restaurant and local cafes, boating and boat hire facilities. There is also a ferry service to Patonga, Ettalong and Palm Beach from Wagstaffe Wharf - great for a day out! Avoca and Terrigal beaches are both 10 and 15 mins drive away and also offer swimming/surfing, shopping and dining. Quiet home with nice deck and birds around. The house has everything your own home would have. A lovely decor and lovely attention to details. Very clean comfy beds, good water. 2 toilets are great. It was clean, with a well stocked kitchen, spacious outdoor deck with BBQ and sun lounges overlooking a leafy backyard. My partner and I (and our dog) absolutely loved our stay at this peaceful, relaxing and very welcoming home nestled in the treetops. It has everything you need for a great holiday - beautiful views, close to the beach, comfy beds and lounges, lovely bed linens, good kitchen, BBQ, modern appliances, lots of books & games and is very comfortable, clean and practical throughout. The location is just stunning and the large enclosed back deck is where we spent most of our time relaxing. Just a few short minutes walk to Macmasters Beach, the house is surrounded by trees and the local bird life is spectacular, particularly in the mornings and late afternoons. Gorgeous king parrots, lorikeets and kookaburras fly past and often land on the back deck, so you get to see and hear them at close range. Our dog loved hanging out on the back deck with us and it's also great for breakfast, BBQs and afternoon drinks. From the house it's a short 10 minute walk along the beach to Macmasters Surf Club cafe, or around 15-20 minutes walk along the beach to Copacabana beach, surf club, shops, cafes and restaurants. The beach is dog friendly which is brilliant, and Cochran's Lagoon is lovely, too. Bev was an excellent host and the house is very thoughtfully stocked with everything you may need. We absolutely loved our stay here, and hope to return again very soon - it's just such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. ##### Lisa M. House was perfect for us. This was our first doggie holiday. A perfect location, doggies loved their 2 times a day beach walk. There is no fenced yard but the large deck was perfect for them. We chose the house because it could easily fit our family of five including two teens, our grandmother and our small cockerpoo. The house is well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen and outdoor BBQ. Best of all it has a fireplace as we were staying in the cooler months and super cosy warm beds. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival. I would only warn visitors arriving in the night that there is a dimly lit boardwalk to get to the front door. It’s just a short walk but you may need your phone light to navigate first time you enter. ##### Claire M. Tree top living right next to the beach. Really comfortable set up with enough room for 5 - nice touches of cold bubbly in fridge and bathroom toilteries. Beds are super comfy. The distance to the surf life flags on McMasters beach are nearer to the house than the ones on Copacobana - whole beach is a fabulous walk round. Bonus for us was the birdlife that come onto the balcony - absolute joy to be that close. Heads up - it's a steep driveway down to park a car (or 2) as the house is high up (tree top living remember!) Bev is hands down the most attentive owner to deal with.
