It is also located across the road from the George Washington National Forest. The cabin is spotless, cozy, and so well stocked, it truly feels like someone’s home. Every kitchen tool and supply you could think of is there, which made cooking easy and enjoyable.The location is peaceful and private, perfect if you like being off the beaten path and surrounded by nature. We had a couple of small things come up during our stay (nothing bad!) and the owner responded right away every time, which we really appreciated.Honestly, the photos don’t do this place justice. And there were many items supplied for the kayaker and canoe enthusiasts to enjoy being in and on the river - we are just old timers who enjoy soaking in the beautiful views and sounds on dry land lol. The cabin is right on the river and plenty of activities to do on the property. Cabin is well stocked with supplies for you to cook out all day if that’s what you choose. We loved fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, tubing, and exploring the area. You can tell the hosts put a lot of effort into the cabin and want their guests to have a good time. The location on the river is spectacular and the host has provided many thoughtful touches to make sure that your stay is easy. The kitchen is well equipped, and the furniture in the house is comfortable. Communication was good and we felt that the property was well represented online. The outside facilities and location are what you really go for! When we went, the guys in our group were able to wade out to waste deep or higher water and fish without any issue. Everyone had a great time and we very much enjoyed the fire pit at night. The walkway as well lit and there were special touches like motion lights that come on to keep you on path. I found this to be one of the better stocked VRBO kitchens and the refrigerator is quite spacious. The owner even provides two Britta water, which we definitely appreciated. The only real downside, if you could call it that that we found was that the location is somewhat remote so your Wi-Fi and cell service definitely are not what you would expect in town. There is a landline in case of an emergency. We discovered towards the end of our trip that if only one person was on the Wi-Fi, we were able to log onto our Netflix account and stream, but otherwise we had a lot of difficulty - apparently, the teenagers had too many devices! Just something to note if you’re taking a vacation where you expect to work or download files – even a zoom call might be a challenge. It is an absolutely adorable cabin!!!! ##### Melissa L. We expected snow but got rain, freezing rain, and sleet, but still the justification we needed to have a worry-free weekend. The indoor accommodations were cozy and comfortable with one of the best outfitted kitchens we have seen. The crafts and decorations throughout the home were a joy to view. And the river views and firepit on the shore gave us the calming respite that we needed. We have stayed on the river at other homes in early Fall, so I can imagine the summer river fun to be had with the available canoes and kayaks. The internet speed and range could be improved, since cell coverage is weak in this area. Future investment in a power generator would be wise. Our 7-hour power outage was not a major inconvenience, since the gas fireplace kept it warm in the living area. But I can imagine a difficult time for longer outages or on really cold or really hot days. We will definitely keep Shenandoah Shores on our list for the future. ##### Dwayne J. Love the decor and fireplace. The new kitchen table was a great addition. It was our second stay. We brought my daughter and her husband this time. They fell in love with it and want to build one like it. Only complaint would be wifi bandwidth and range only because we watched hockey games on Saturday. Otherwise it’s fabulous. The cabin is gorgeous. The views of the river and mountains are stunning. It was so clean. Anything you forgot to pack? Don't panic.
