We had 10 adults staying on the property and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Blend the privacy and tranquility of the property with the incredible views of Malibu, the ocean, and even Catalina and it’s impossible not to feel at peace here. Barry was very kind and very helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
Pack up the family and shop for groceries to use in a well
Equipped kitchen or BBQ while soaking in a 180 degree of the Pacific Ocean. The only sounds up there are you, your family, friends and nature.
a beautiful residence that had panoramic views but unfortunately this time of year there was a lot of cloud cover and fog. location was nearby a wedding venue we attended so location was ideal for our large group.
The property was beautiful, the views amazing. The inside bathrooms were a little dated. I’m 62 yrs and was challenging to get over the jacuzzi tub to get in the shower. Overall it was a great stay. Barry was very receptive to our needs.
Unbelievable 180degree ocean views in a large estate home. Top line kitchen with every imaginable cooking utility. Large great room with huge siting area with picture windows framing view. Clean hot tub also overlooking the view. Only downside is the drive up the mountain but doable
Family gathering for Christmas week. Mixed feelings.
Pros: The property, the views overlooking Malibu and the solitude were fantastic. Villa was well appointed for our family of 8 adults and 1 small child. The owner was kind to leave holiday decorations up for our stay, which filled the home with Christmas spirit. The property manager on site was courteous, helpful and conscientious of our private family time.Cons: The property is susceptible to rodents entering the home. The owner has taken measures against intrusion, but nothing is perfect. We unfortunately experienced two large rodents being trapped in the kitchen over three nights. The owner’s response to this was that we had to be responsible and that we must have left doors open for the rodents to get in. This was definitely not the case. We clearly disagreed on this.Be aware that the drive to the villa is on canyon ridge roads (Latino Canyon Road). There are a lot of switchbacks and steep drop offs. Care is to be taken as these roads are notorious for being treacherous. Day driving is recommended as well as minimizing trips up-down the canyon roads. We should have brought all of our supplies in with us to minimize our trips. If you are considering renting the villa….my comments are to inform you. They are not intended to degrade the property or the owner.
We hosted a small family wedding at this property; it was absolutely beautiful! Liana, Barry and the Malibu Solstice Vineyard team worked with us the entire way, from being able to do site visits with vendors to rental deliveries to the beautiful experience of getting married above the clouds. There were a few spiders in the rooms, but given the location of the house, it was to be expected. I highly recommend Malibu Solstice Vineyard for your wedding or event.
Beautiful mountain top property with Amazing Views!
Three generations of our family stayed in this beautiful home while we celebrated a family wedding nearby. The winding drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart, but worth it to see the amazing view of the bay!The home was clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and the onsite property manager very friendly and attentive.
The house was exactly how it looked in the pictures, up in the mountains of Malibu, perfectly scenic. It is a true oasis up there! The kitchen and house are stocked for your needs and the Estate Manager is available for any help.
Overall, perfect stay!
This place was absolutely AMAZING!! The views!!!! Can’t wait to get back!! Barry was the BEST!! So helpful and just a great guy! Helped us with anything we needed…highly recommend this place to everyone!!
If you are looking for a wonderfully peaceful and luxurious respite that comes with outstanding views, this is the place! Barry, the property mgr, pays attention to every detail and will make your stay very comfortable. The house itself and the outside property are stunning and expansive with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all the extras this home has to offer. We've travelled the world and this place is clearly a gem at the top.
The views are incredible and the house is very spacious! The property is located on top of a hill and requires driving through canyon roads to get there so keep this in mind if your party has anyone with sensitive stomachs/ car sickness (I did not have any issues personally). We had some issues getting food delivered and could not get (even prescheduled) Ubers/Lyfts from the place so ended up booking a party bus. Barry let us know he had some Uber contacts so ask him for help if you have trouble/ consider alternative plans to make the stay easier!
Overall it was an amazing place and I would absolutely recommend it anyone!
The property is very comfortable. Few things that could be upgraded in the kitchen (larger coffeepot, large spoons for cooking) but overall almost everything you need. What sets this property apart are the views which are jaw dropping! Lots of windows, plenty of outdoor seating and the hot tub is wonderful. Getting up to the property is quite challenging--should be done during the day if possible. Also it would work to bring as much up as you can since getting back down to a grocery store isn't easy. Be prepared for Barry the property manager to be around a great deal but he is very helpful and wants to make your stay enjoyable. The hiking trails were a real plus. We would stay in this beautiful place again.

You'll Wish You Never Have to Leave
This home served as a vacation getaway for my husband and I, a home for our wedding party to stay and enjoy, and the magical, unforgettable venue for our wedding. We could not have dreamt up a place like this or people like Don, Edwina, and Tim. We had already felt like we'd escaped from reality after the relaxing and scenic mountain drive, and, when we arrived to the house, it was meticulously clean and ready for us, right down to classical music playing and fresh flowers set out. The grounds looked beautiful. The vines were full and everything smelled so fresh; especially when paired with the expansive ocean view!
The estate is clearly magical, and in communicating with Don and Edwina, the owners, and Tim, the manager, throughout the planning and the wedding weekend, we just felt more and more confident in our experience. Tim was extremely helpful and considerate throughout our entire stay. He gladly answered all questions about the house, the estate, and things to do in the area, and all of our wedding guests raved about his hospitality.
Overall, we wish we never had to leave! We cannot wait for our next visit, whether it is just the two of us, a family stay, or an anniversary celebration with the wedding party, we know it will be great. Last but not least, be sure to try a bottle of the wine, as it is yet another aspect of the estate that will captivate you! We had the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, and it became a staple at our rehearsal dinner. Before we checked out, we'd decided to pick up a few extra bottles for ourselves, and a couple bottles of their 2009 and 2011...we do not regret it!!

Not As Pictured at all.
The house resides at the top of a back-switching, winding road that for even the stable rider is nauseating. It is a 30 minute drive each way not 15 at all. The house is lacking in window treatments in all rooms except one set in the master (2 ceiling to floor windows without next to the one with) making the house bright as day at 5:30am. There was a Rottweiler dog when we arrived that the (only helpful part of the house land lord Cash) took away since we had 6 small children there and admitted there were pit bulls as well. There was no laundry machine until the owners allowed us to use theirs in a dark and dirty, hoarded basement as a bonus because the alarm kept going off setting off the flood lights which shone so brightly into the upstairs bedrooms the children couldn't sleep. You also get to share doing loads of laundry in between the grounds keepers laundry. Alarm went off at midnight and again at 5 am the next morning. No sleep the first 3 nights. There are no horses and the vineyard is dead. There are no hikes from the house only the dirt road from which you arrive around houses that are covered in corrugated metal and tarps and barking, seemingly vicious dogs. There was a gun shot go off at night. There is an ant problem, a fly problem and the a/c only works in the back part/master bedroom. Owner never called me back after the alarm went off only his "assistant" which is his fiance. The hot tub just began working when we got there (so says grounds keeper) and was just warm enough to be in and dirty day 2. It is not an appropriate rental house. It was uncomfortable, scary, difficult to get to and from and sleep depriving. Skip it completely.
Amazing property; attentive on-site management. We celebrated a big birthday and the accommodations were perfect; everything I saw online was what we experienced. Pricey w/ all of the VRBO add-ons, but was worth it for this special occasion.
It was a beautiful location. Watching the sunsets and the clouds roll in and out was great. We really enjoyed the stay. There are five real bedrooms and the kitchen is great and has all the cookware you could want for an extended stay. We would definitely do it again.
The house was everything we'd hoped for. It was beautiful, spacious, and the views were spectacular. The property manager was very friendly, very helpful, and really looked after us. We recommend this property to anyone, especially those with a large party. We had 9 total residents, but throw in makeup professionals, hair stylists, photographers, and other family members visiting, and the number grew to almost 20. The property can handle much more as it is itself an event venue, but we used it as a vacation home. It is also a vineyard so we had to try the wine which resulted in us purchasing 6 bottles. We're not used to driving on canyon roads, so we had to adapt, but all in all, we'll look for this place when we visit Malibu again.
We had a wonderful experience at this amazing property. It is true the road there is difficult, however, the home is lovely and the landscape is physically breathtaking. Well worth the drive! The property manager Barry is on-site to help with anything you need. He is terrific and made the experience easy and smooth. Thank you for a wonderful few days that will live forever in our memories.
We loved our stay at Malibu Solstice. It is a truly spectacular place. We had a small wedding and it was lovely. Haley, the property manager, was wonderful. She was extremely responsive and helpful in answering questions in advance of our stay. Barry, on site, was delightful and extremely helpful. Our only concern was the drive, but if you take it slowly it is manageable. We highly recommend this place.
