We felt safe in the area but having an outside coded door and then an inside coded door made it even safer (but truly did not feel unsafe to begin with). Our hosts were wonderful. Lots of dining and shopping in walking distance. There IS nightlife - so there is some noise. It didn’t bother us at all, but if you are a light sleeper or you need super quiet this may not be the flat for you.
