We had to go back to reception because our key didn’t open the door. The room was badly lit. One bedside light was missing a switch. Bathroom was so small that trying to use the basin water splashed on the floor. The loo roll was hidden behind a bath robe. Eggs Royale came on a solid untoasted bagel instead of a muffin. The hotel is lovely, clean and in a fantastic location. I was surprised how quiet my room was given its proximity to Kings Cross Station. It was so quiet! Best hotel shower I’ve ever experienced. I appreciated the little touches like a note reminding me that the clocks were changing overnight and the pantry at the end of the hallway with complimentary little cakes and different teas. If this was a 3\* hotel I wouldn't have cared but having stayed in real 5\* hotels this hotel is 3\* at best but they charge 5\* prices.
