Pimlico has always had a reputation for being one of the more gentile neighbourhoods of the capital and is home to some of London's wealthiest residents. When Pimlico was designed as an extension of neighbouring Belgravia, priority was given to green spaces and gardens. That has made this Regency enclave a more sedate and tranquil spot, despite its proximity to Victoria and Westminster.
