You are within walking distance from all the main places to visit in Lisbon such as Avenida da Liberdade, Rossio, Baixa, Chiado, Principe Real, Bairro Alto, the São Jorge Castle and the picturesque neighborhood called Alfama. It´s a perfect location to enjoy the traditional daily life and the nightlife of the city! Forget taxis... you can walk everywhere!The 200 square meters apartment is on the 1st floor of a very charming building from the beginning of the XIX century, with original ceiling stucco and fine old wooden floors, but no elevator. We loved it. There were some mosquitos, so that made it hard to keep the windows open all the time. It was very hot in the bedrooms, too (there were sufficient fans, but no A/C). It was a hot week. We were a large group (19 of us at one point)...we had to scramble a bit to figure out where everyone would sleep (and the extra fee of 28 euros/person/nt was a bit steep). I think the place is better for groups of 14-15\. The building manager was helpful when we needed extra towels and sheets. I highly recommend this rental for the perfect perch for exploring Lisbon, located in the Príncipe Real neighborhood just near the Baixada (highly recommend). Just steps from several parks (we have kids that needed to get some energy out running around), breakfast spots, bars, tapas restaurants, stunning views of the city and 10 min. walk to the waterfront and downtown. We could easily walk the block away to get coffee (sometimes multiple trips per day), shop for Lisbon made clothing, jewelry, ceramics and see stunning architecture, pop into a restaurant with a outdoor garden patio out back. The best part is that despite its proximity to all the sights and restaurants it is pleasantly quiet, only situated on one street, traffic is light and relatively non-existent at night. Lots of light, and the perfect perch for sunrise, coffee on the balcony and relaxing. There are several small bodega-style grocery shops nearby for stocking the fridge and bar. Our check-in could not have been smoother with the property manager very communicative and helpful. ##### allison b.
