My home overlooks picturesque Alfama with a large outdoor terrace that offers a near-panoramic view of this historical quarter and the beautiful Tegus River. Comprised of one bedroom equipped with a queen-size bed lined hotel quality linen's for a good night's rest. The apartment has a quintessential Portuguese 'je ne sais quois' that's unique to Lisbon, which includes rich, dark wooden floors; cream coloured walls; floor-to-ceiling, dual paned windows, and decor that has a classical European vibe that can be felt immediately as you stepped inside. Everything you'll ever need for a comfortable stay can be found within an arm's reach, which includes a fully-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher for added convenience. A washing machine and dryer combo to help refreshen your clothes. A small dining table, and a lounge area with a covered fireplace to keep yourself during the cold winter months. The sofa can be converted into a double bed to fit an additional two guests; fresh linens will also be provided. There's one bathroom in the apartment that comes with all the basics (shower, toilet, mirror) and comes with hot water. Fresh towels and toiletries are provided at no extra cost. Cleaning and sanitisation will be done before your anticipated arrival. Enjoy! Guests will have access to the entire home! We are GuestReady, a property manager, working hard to make your stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. We are available 24/7 should you need any assistance during your stay. Kindly note that this is a personal home so please take good care of it as if it was your own. Alfama is Lisbon's most emblematic quarter and one of the most rewarding for walkers and photographers thanks to its medieval alleys and outstanding views. As one of Europe’s oldest neighbourhoods. It was settled as far back as the Iron Age, and later occupied by the Romans, Visigoths and other Germanic tribes, before becoming the heart of Moorish Lisbon. With the conquest of the city by Portugal’s first king in 1147, the Moors were either killed in the siege or segregated in Mouraria, and Alfama became home to the upper classes. It was also the Jewish quarter until the Jews were expelled (together with all other non-Christians who didn’t convert) in 1497\. As Lisbon expanded, the wealthy residents moved west, leaving Alfama to the fishing community. Services like UBER, Carjet and Bolt are available for download in Lisbon. The nearest metro line is Santa Apolónia (Blue Line) which is 800m/ 13-minutes away by foot, but there are a good number of bus stops close to the apartment. Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) is 21-minutes away by car from the apartment. This is a self-check-in property and you will be requested to verify your identity before being able to check into the flat. Check-in can be done from 15:00, pending availability and confirmation. We provide the basic amenities for the first use: samples of shower gel, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, kitchen roll, sponge, dishwashing products and bin bag. If you need cleaning or extra linen, please let us know, we will be happy to provide for an aditional There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking in the property. If our team discovers any evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.) we fully reserve the right to charge a €200 EUR smoking fee, at minimum. Please note that for stays longer than 30 nights a fair use policy of the utilities will apply with a limit of 80€ included. Many great restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance or short Bolt/Uber ride. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes. Cons: The shower floods the entire bathroom. The bed is very noisy/creaky. The bedroom blinds need to be replaced. Would have been nice to get check-in instructions without having to request several times and also to have coffee for at least first day. ##### Jill A. This is a very nice apartment with amazing views of the Tagus River and Pantheon, with sunrise and sunset views each day. The steep, cobblestoned Graca location is best for billy goats, but Uber is readily available so you can get anywhere quickly and cheaply. Unlike a hotel, when you run out of something, you must replenish it. You can't just "call the guy." However, GuestReady is responsive whenever you have questions. The up-and-coming location has not exactly arrived, but the views make up for any shortcomings. Better for the young and hip, than the old with bad hips. ##### Dean E. It was lacking in amenities such as shampoo, lotion, tissues, and coffee. The key process to get in was almost impossible. We arrived in the evening and the lockbox code was almost unreadable, even with a flashlight. The streets are pretty steep so don't book unless you plan to always use Uber or a taxi (if you have any trouble walking). Great table, chairs and even a hammock on the balcony. Kitchen was great as well; had a dishwasher, fully functioning kitchen appliances and even a separate laundry room. Awesome. The living room areas were good, nothing extraordinary. Small couch but we really didn't need to use that space so did the job. Bedroom had AC which was great and a "sun room". The bed was a bit older but still solid. Check-in process was not the best, but once we got the correct code, keys and fob... the rest of the stay was easy getting in and out of the unit. ##### Andrew S. Jan 19, 2024 #### We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. I think one of the most important factors for us i We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. I think one of the most important factors for us is that we felt completely relaxed and at home here. The view from the balcony is terrific and we enjoyed many hours recovering from our walks just watching the world go by. The living space felt plenty big enough for the two of us but may have been a little tight with 2 more occupants using the sofa bed. The Kitchen was well appointed and contained everything we needed for our week long stay. The bathroom was perfectly adequate but was perhaps a little compromised in terms of space, however this was not an issue for us. The building is modern and very clean and well maintained. The surrounding area offers everything you need for your stay including restaurants, bars and supermarkets within a ten minute walk. Obviously being Lisbon there are lots of steep hills so would not suit someone with limited mobility unless you were happy to use taxis/Uber type services. We found the proximity to the rail/metro station a huge benefit as it allowed us to easily explore further afield. It is quiet, has beautiful views, and feels quite safe. Unfortunately, due to the amenities and property management, we would not choose to stay here again. We recommend management pay attention to the communications from the renter. We wrote 4 times with no response. The only way we got a response was by calling the emergency line and waiting on hold for long periods of time. Some issues were not worth the wait. We recommend replacing the throw rugs as a couple of them were ill fitting and caused tripping hazard. The furniture needs to be replaced or cleaned. The upholstered ones have distinct odors. There should be more towels - we were provided exactly 5 for the entire house - 2 thin hand towels. 2 thin bath towels and one bath mat. There were no kitchen cloths of any type. The fireplace remote didn’t work, and there was no tv remote. We appreciated management delivering a new toaster when the first one shorted out the entire apartment. At that time they also provided two kitchen towels. There should be a squeegee for the bathroom floor as the shower floods the bathroom and water flows out. Due to this issue, we chose to only use the bath. Please refill the salt and pepper shakers, throw away the used candles, get rid of or replace the mismatched containers. Large kitchen and living room, the balcony is 100% as good as advertised, my wife and I preferred this neighborhood feel over a more central location with street noise.
