Its a nice mix of modern, rustic and traditional Portuguese elements which make one feel at home among the breathtaking views of the hotel below and the Atlantic ocean. Children are welcome, since we have a little boy, and the garden lends itself well to both big and small visitors. An outdoor jaccuzzi (for 6) and eating area (bbq) as well as an outdoor fire pit make evenings all the more enjoyable for the adults, while the other garden holds a small vegetable patch which children enjoy checking for ripe strawberries and cherry tomatoes! The first floor has a large modern kitchen, a dining room with a fire place, and one bedroom with bathroom. Upstairs another living room provides ample play space for children, while 2 suits make sleeping arrangements very comfortable. The last two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom with bathtub and allow access to the back yard. We offer superfast wifi and a bluetooth sound system, as well as cable tv in both living rooms. Ericiera is surrounded by several fantastic beaches and lives up to its claim to World Surf Reserve. Guests can also visit the National Mafra Palace 10 minutes away, or Sintra around 25 minutes by car. The house was so beautiful and meticulously maintained; exactly how it looked in the photos. Pedro was very communicative, even when I made a mistake with the check-in time and he graciously moved around his schedule for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and the host is accessible for questions. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the property immensely. Note that the walk to the beach and into town is hilly and there are many steps involved. We navigated it fine, and you can drive if needed, but if you have accessibility concerns, it is something to be aware of (though note that Portugal overall is quite hilly). They made a big effort to show us around and were happy to talk to us about the area and places to visit which was very helpful. The Villa was amazing, with the Hot tub overlooking South beach. It had everything we needed for our stay. it was clean, beautifully furnished throughout and had all the mod cons. The position of the Villa was great being just a short stroll to the centre of Ericeira and a short drive to some of the other surfing beaches. The Property: Exactly as described and as photographed from the listing’s pictures. The property is modern and lavish in its furnishings. Beds are super comfortable. We absolutely loved the fire pit in the evenings, and the hot tub was super clean (clear water, no foam). The kitchen has all the amenities (dishes/utensils/cookware/bakeware/coffee maker/dishwasher) one could imagine. Bathrooms super clean with fresh towels for each of the rooms. Location: Great location in Ericeira, with a stellar ocean view. You are a short 10 min walking distance from the beaches and Ericeira’s central strip where you have a ton of local restaurants. There is also a massive modern US-style supermarket (Continentale) located a short 10 min walk (or 2 min drive) from the property. Fresh pastries/produce/fish each day. We had a rental car for our stay (free parking out front in a quiet crescent (cul-de-sac): Property is a 20 min drive from Mafra, 30 min from Sintra and 40 min from Lisbon. Recommendation: Highly recommend. It’s not often I rent a property and am this impressed with the level of details to ensure guests are happy. Our party was comprised of six couples and three small children (ages 5 and 2). The property was spacious and fantastically well equipped. It was a short walk to a couple of beaches and a 25 min walk to a very safe beach (with a car park). The garden was safe for small children and there were two sitting room/areas where we could get away from them! The children really loved the jacuzzi. The owners had put a lot of thought into what would make the children (and therefore adults) happy including stairgates and lots of toys. The old town is charming with really great fish restaurants. The owners gave us good advice on beaches and the best places to eat. ##### Carol J. It is tastefully designed, has a lovely garden both in the front and back. As this property is available only during the summer months, the house is fully equipped (as opposed to properties used solely as vacation rentals). The location is about a 5 minute walk to the main square and grocery store. The views are breathtaking. The photographs are not deceiving. Welcome fruit basket and wine bottles. The house is equipped with modern technology (e.g. internal and external speakers, security cameras, etc). Plenty of on-street parking. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this property to any families wanting serenity in Ericeira. ##### Glenn S.
