We had a fantastic stay in this charming apartment in the most ideal location in historic Lisbon. 1\. Location: just steps from the metro and bus (including bus 728 which services Belem and also the Oceanarium), close to restaurants, and walking distance to shopping and sites! We couldn't have asked for a better location. Neighborhood is safe and was NOT noisy (at night, you might hear an occasional siren or music, but only for a moment - it's a normal city!) 2\. Apartment: very clean (including the bathroom and kitchen, which I am particular about), well-stocked with plenty of supplies (extra towels, napkins in the kitchen, dishes, extra pillows, toilet paper, hair dryer, clothing iron, etc.) 3\. Communication: I had a few questions prior to the visit and the communication via email was smooth and quick. 4\. The only thing I would ask is to let us know where we could bring our recyclable trash. I liked the environment. It is at 5 minutes of the commercial place and 10 minutes from Baixa-Chiado metro. The apartment is nice and big. The only thing I won’t do next time is to take the breakfast, because it costs 15€ per person it is a continental breakfast composed by an orange juice, coffee or tea, scrambled eggs with a slice of ham and one of cheese a croissant with butter and jam and a small bread. On the card it is at 14.65 and we should have also a yoghurt with granola but there wasn’t any. So the breakfast should be at 10 or 12€ maximum. We had enough to eat and it was very good, but I find the price too high. Otherwise everything was good. We didn’t ask to change the towels and clean the apartment during our 4 nights stay, but it is said that every two nights you can ask them to do it included in the price. There is just a small problem, the bathtub was a little bit clogged, the water was leaving very slowly. They should fix it. Yes, the bed was comfortable and the location can’t be beat. That’s where the positives end. The pillows were awful, the kitchen was stocked with the bare minimum, and there wasn’t even a welcome book with basics like how to use the metro or where to eat. But the real issue is safety — and the fact that management simply does not care. The shower hose blasted water everywhere the first time we used it, soaking the bathroom. The floors outside are already warped and splintering from obvious water damage. My wife slipped badly trying to get into the steep tub, cut her elbow, and bruised her back and shoulder. It could easily have been a broken bone or head injury. I immediately asked for a simple $5 non-slip mat. Management flat-out refused, hiding behind excuses about “hygiene” instead of addressing a clear hazard. Even after an actual injury, they wouldn’t act. Add in a deadbolt that doesn’t work and warped floors waiting to cause splinters or trips, and you’ve got a place that screams “we don’t care.” To make matters worse, they lied to Expedia about “working with me” when I had ended communication. Of course, we never got the mat. Bottom line: Unsafe, poorly maintained, and run by people who ignore real injuries and hazards.
