It's like a luxury resort but many of the suites are individually owned. There is no cooking allowed in the room per Kauai County regulations, but there is a coffee maker and mini fridge with freezer plus a microwave at the fifth floor in the lounge. • What's the difference between my suite and renting from the resort? The difference is price and housekeeping. My suite is quite a bit less expensive compare to the Resort room rates start at $270/night plus tax. Mine starts at $129 per night : -no maid service during your stay unless you request it for an additional $45 for midweek cleaning if you stay over per week. The $300/night rooms have daily maid service. But -I do not charge a daily resort fee. • Is there a kitchen? No, just a 3.5 cu. ft. fridge with freezer and coffee maker. No kitchenware provided(no plates, utensils, pots etc.). There is a microwave at the fifth floor in the lounge • What is there to do? For short stays, you may want to keep it simple and stay at the resort enjoying the restaurants and bar, walks along the beach, tennis, spa, or one of the pools. The best thing about this resort is its parking includes the valet parking, it is the same price as self park, be sure you take advantage of that. Also, you can book all activities with the concierge desk, including Luau, helicopter tour, hiking, horse riding or dinner cruise. Or you can simply enjoy the spa there. • What is the bedding arrangement? The suite has one king size bed. It is ideal for 2 adults and up to 1 child using the king size bed and lounger(included). • Do we need our own beach towels? I will provide towels to use at the pool and beach • Is there a resort fee? There is no resort fee...a daily savings of $25\. There is cleaning fee collected at time of booking which provides cleaning of the room after your departure. • What about WiFi? WiFi is free everywhere around the resort! • Does the suite have air conditioning? Yes. And nice ocean breezes. \-What is the check in and out time? The room itself was okay, a lot more dated than the pictures looked in the listing. The bed was kind of sinking on the left side, but the pillows were very comfortable. The sheets had a very polyester feeling. The TV stopped working a couple of times and the smart TV feature wasn't working.The check in/check out process was super smooth, and we got wristbands as our room key. It felt kind of clean, there was an alcohol bottle wedged behind the sink in the bathroom which was a little unnerving and disappointing considering the steep cleaning fee. The view from the room was not like the pictures on the listing, we had a view of the hotel entrance & mountains but no ocean view. There were also no curtains for the windows, only 3 door panels that slid to cover the window, but there were cracks between the panels that let the light in. However, one huge, major mistake made on behalf of HomeAway, was the fact they did not mention anywhere on my confirmation that there would be a mandatory (and astronomical!!) $25 DAILY parking fee. I was shocked and very upset when the front desk clerk advised me of this. NO WHERE was this disclosed in my transaction. Bed was firm and bathroom was very nicely updated in the recent past. Being in the main building was super convenient as we had close access to the free valet, restaurants, and pool area. You can see the ocean from the room- which is absolutely incredible for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend this listing to friends and family. ##### Casi F. The room really has no ocean view it is way off to the right, nice view of the parking lot. We were not in the room much. Feb 25, 2016 #### Disapointed We stayed at this resort from February 5 - 14, 2016\. The room smelled musky and moldy, we had to sleep with the deck sliding door open at night. when we came to the room and it was closed up tight, it was a bit overwhelming. Other than this, the room was just fine. A basic hotel room. The resort on the other hand was a disappointment from a customer service perspective. The parking fee of $17.50 per night is a bit hard to take, although they do offer Enterprise Rental cars on site for $60.00 per day and may waive the parking fee, which is twice the price from them directly. The pool bar bartender and waitresses where rude and not willing to walk around the pool for drink or food orders until the pool was full of guests. on one specific event i waited for nearly an hour watching the staff giggle and grab ass with each other and nobody bothered to walk around the pool to take customer orders, i then waited at the bar for ten minutes for my order which was never taken, nor was i even acknowledged I left and went back to my lounger across the pool, thinking someone would take notice of my waiting and my leaving the bar side. I then see what i think is a supervisor come up to check on the staff, they were all happy and responsive to customers, i went back, they took my order and i made a formal complaint with the supervisor. On our last night we ordered chicken wings from the bar menu, within an hour I had full on food poisoning and spent the night loosing my stomach. The next morning when we checked out i was still green, i explained this to the clerk. She went in the back room, closed the door and supposedly checked with the Kitchen Manager and advised me that she had my credit card number and the resort would be doing an " investigation" into this matter and if they found a problem they would then credit me the $10.00 for the wings. I was really upset, but frankly not feeling well enough to ask for the General Manager, we paid our bill and left silently. The onsite restaurants where very overpriced along with a restricted menu. $25 breakfast buffet, $18 hamburgers and $48 dinner entree's. In hindsight, I am very disappointed with the customer service of this facility, not once did we feel like a" Valued Guest", on the other hand the price was right and the location is centralized and outstanding for visiting the entire island. ##### Mark G. All the hotel management were super nice, and they were always attentive. You do have to watch out for the extra fees, so read closely to the description! What's great about going through a private owner than the actual resort is how cheap it is! Although you don't get as many perks, the quality is still the same. At first, I thought it was downright crazy how low the price of a resort hotel room is...but I'm glad I booked this room. The owner is always responsive and very nice. You really can't go wrong picking this room. The beach was so nice because it was private. Although it's not a swimming beach, the allure of the ocean is truly magnificent and being isolated there is a very movie-like experience. Loved it. Thank you! One of my biggest pet peeve is that stuffy/musky feeling in a hotel room, something to especially look out for in a beach side hotel room. Anyways, the room didn't have that because of the phenomenal cleaning staff. The staff were great, they responded to all my requests and it was an overall enjoyable stay. Let me start off with this -- I'm hard to please and I was very satisfied with this stay! My husband and I traveled there for Christmas for a little romantic getaway, and it was fantastic. The view was pretty good. One of the best things though, was that the owner was ALWAYS RESPONSIVE, and she always made sure that we had the best of the best when it came to services. This is a room I will order again.
