Just across the street is a great beach and some shopping. Dukes restaurant and Portofino's were great. Lihue is a nice location to get to Costco and Target, close to the airport. Our hosts were very thoughtful and responded quickly to all our questions. They left us a nice assortment of snacks. They also let us have an earlier check in as soon as the condo had been cleaned, since our flight arrived early in the day. The beds were comfortable. It’s on the ground floor, so no hauling luggage upstairs. The lanai opens onto a nice green space in the back. There’s a busy street nearby, but the traffic noise dies down early, so no trouble sleeping. The location was conveniently central for all our Kaua’i sightseeing.
