This is a serine ground floor unit with 2 queen beds and a gorgeous view of the pools and resort. Walk out your lanai and walk straight to the pools and within a couple of minutes you can be at the beach. The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go through a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beachfront property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with waterfalls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your backyard! KAUAI RESORT AMENITIES • 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool. • Two whirlpool spas, one amidst a stone grotto and surrounded by lush ferns and and exotic waterfall. • Two restaurants on site. • "Take-Out" service available from the restaurants. • Poolside Driftwood Bar and Grill • Free Wi-Fi access in the lobby, restaurants, and the pool areas. • Hawaiian Rainforest Boutique Spa offering sauna, spa treatments, massages ect. • Activities and tour desk. • Hertz car rental agency on-site.. • ATM, ice machines, purified water machines and vending machines. • Fitness room • Business center with computer. • Fridge for your food, soda, wine, etc. • In room, blow dryer, iron, ironing board. • There is a coffee maker in the room. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICY • Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Check in procedure: Simply check in at the front desk with your name and booking info. HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES • Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay. If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning. As a Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa. By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $35 per day resort fee charged by Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay. \----------------------------------------------------------------- FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM? Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay. DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN? No. They do not have kitchens; they were previously hotel rooms. ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT? No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests. WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE? The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming. SHOULD I GET A CAR? We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental. IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT? No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort is close to the airport which makes taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island! ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH? Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels. DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE? Private owner guests are not required to pay the $35 daily resort fee. DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE? I didn’t expect the humidity to the level. It was so you often felt damp at night, but the host had a dehumidifier and the air conditioning worked great wonderfully comfortable beds.Host was fantastic for communication. I would’ve stayed another couple days. Out room was very clean and lovely! However, it was rather frustrating not knowing that after arriving to the hotel, it would undergo planned renovations. After complaints from guest, they began leaving notices. First they closed off the laundry (without notice indefinitely) for renovations and offered no other onsite laundry locations. Nearest place was a laundry mat 5 mins away. Next day they gave a notice that they would be shutting off water and power for X amount of hours over 3 days. With a 4 month infant it was a huge inconvenience. My husband and I had to rearrange our itinerary to leave the hotel instead of enjoying it… which so happened to be the exact days we wanted to enjoy the resort. We made the best of our time, we just wish we knew about the renovations in advance to make other arrangements easier with our infant especially knowing we had laundry to do and breastmilk requiring refrigeration. I did not feel comfortable leaving my baby’s milk at the front desk. It added a lot of unnecessary frustration knowing we paid over 3k with these inconveniences. ##### Brianne M. Pool area nice.The room was dirty on arrival, stains on bedding, slime on end tables, etc. The sliding door was jammed and worst of all the A/C quit the first night causing an uncomfortable nights sleep.We tried to eat at one restaurants but after being ignored by the hostess for 10min we were told we would have to wait, even though there were 20 empty tables?We went to the bar option and food was so-so. We asked for a couple items which the waitstaff forgot.Last try for food was breakfast and for the price I wouldn't recommend it. Runny eggs, burnt bacon, etc.The beach is not great in front of the resort. you will need to walk to avoid the reef out front to swim safely.We noted the resort is also in a wetland and my wife got more bug bites in one evening than a whole day in the jungle on the Napali coast.Also, know if you need anything do not ask the resort, you must run everything thru the host.You also cannot do room charges with the private unit rental.I have nothing but great things to say about the host Crystal. She was extremely responsive to our issues and had the cleaners come back thru asap which made a massive improvement.She got the door and A/C taken care of while we were out.I wish all hosts were as helpful and quick to address problems, she was wonderful.The resort and staff itself was out main concern.We did enjoy our stay overall but the initial bad taste had us looking. ##### Alex M. The resort appears dated with the maintenance of facilities poorly managed such as the gym, the pool. Beautiful spot with easy beach access. Crystal, the hostess, was very friendly and helpful. The resort where the room is located is well run and has plenty of convenient amenities. The staff at the resort were very helpful and at the ready if any problems arose. The room itself is on the ground floor with very easy access to pool and beach. Parking was easy and there is a valet or self park option.
