Lewes offers a charming downtown with excellent restaurants, shops, boutiques, galleries, parks, & museums. Lewes Beach is a hidden gem with soft sand, beautiful views and tons of wildlife. Better yet, it's all within walking distance of our condo. Your home base is just a few yards away from the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. The canal begins at the Roosevelt Inlet where it connects with the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The canal offers excellent fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and boating. The canal is also home to dockside restaurants with outdoor seating (great for sunsets), marinas, and sport fishing shops. The Lewes Canal Front Park offers tennis/basketball courts, a playground, and a boat ramp to launch kayaks. Yoga in the park is offered on Sundays and free weekly concerts, outdoor movies and events are offered throughout the summer at the park. There are also events in the fall and winter months. Lewes Beach is less than a half-mile walk or bicycle ride. This beautiful stretch of beach offers views of lighthouses and the Cape May-Lewes ferry boats that come and go throughout the day. The ferry terminal features a dockside bar and grill. There's also a children's play area by the ferry terminal. Cape Henlopen Seashore State Park is just two miles from the condo. You can bike or drive into the park and enjoy the gorgeous sand dunes, pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches, surfing, a fishing pier, lighthouses, WWII lookout towers, trails and The Seaside Nature Center. We also highly recommend visiting the state park for gorgeous sunrise and sunset viewing from "The Point" (north end of park). Herring Point (south end of the park) is a great beach during the day and beautiful at sunset as well. We see dolphins swimming there frequently. Bike trails are plentiful and easy to access around town. You can walk or bike just about anywhere in Lewes. The beaches, parks, restaurants, ice cream parlors, coffee shops and shopping are all at your fingertips. Two complimentary cruiser bicycles are provided during your stay to make this even easier. Our favorite feature of the condo is the ability to walk out the front door and immediately begin exploring our charming beach town by foot or bicycle. Our condo has free resident parking, which is hard to find in Lewes. If you choose to venture a further distance to Milton, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey, Bethany or Fenwick Island, you'll always have an open parking space waiting for you when you return from exploring. Vehicle charging access. An EV charging station is located directly across the street from our condo next to the Pig & Publican restaurant. Uber and Lyft services are also available in the area. • We're just across the bridge (100 yards) from the Dogfish Inn. East of the canal. • Need additional bicycles or bicycle supplies? Visit Lewes Cycle Sports directly across the street. • Need kayaks, paddle boards, or other beach supply rentals? Visit Quest Adventures directly across the street. This condo is best suited for a couple or a family with young kids. Not recommended for more than 4 adults All guests must be accompanied by an adult age 21+ No smoking of any kind permitted (including e-cigarettes) No pets of any kind (HOA does not allow) We are very family friendly but are not equipped with baby gear such as high chairs. We only allow respectful renters. This place is spotless and they thought of everything. Six minute walk to front street shops is a great help with kids and grandma in tow. Heads up: the laundry is coin operated so bring a roll of quarters. The next time I stay I’ll bring my own sheets ( I think the ones provided are synthetic and were really hot to sleep on) and a fan for the kids room. Otherwise it was just what we were looking for. It's a quick 3-minute walk across the canal bridge to town and maybe a half mile walk to the beach. Parking was more plentiful than any place we've stayed in Lewes. We needed a place to stay while visiting family for me, my husband and 3-year old daughter. This was perfect. Clean, exactly as pictured, and the patio was a great space to hang outside in the unexpected nice spring weather. It was private with high fences as well! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our weekend getaway to Lewes. Ideally situated, we were able to walk to the beach and downtown with our two littles in tow! The rental was very clean, quiet, and close to the beach as well as restaurants and shops. The hosts left an informative binder with easy to understand instructions on the bike trails, shops, and restaurants nearby. We were in Lewes for lax tournaments at the Frederica fields, but the location of the cute condo helped us enjoy and appreciate the town of Lewes and the beach. The owner sent info on restaurants and other activities (particularly helpful when the weather was poor). I enjoyed hopping on the bike trail to the beach. The trail starts at the next block.
