Lewes offers a charming downtown with excellent restaurants, shops, boutiques, galleries, parks, & museums. Lewes Beach is a hidden gem with soft sand, beautiful views and tons of wildlife. Better yet, it\`s all within walking distance of our condo. Your homebase is near the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. The canal begins at the Roosevelt Inlet where it connects with the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The canal offers excellent fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and boating. The canal is also home to dockside restaurants with outdoor seating (great for sunsets), marinas, and sport fishing shops. The Lewes Canal Front Park offers tennis/basketball courts, a playground, and a boat ramp to launch kayaks. Yoga in the park is offered on Sundays and free weekly concerts, outdoor movies and events are offered throughout the summer at the park. There are also events in the fall and winter months. Lewes Beach is less than a half-mile walk or bicycle ride. This beautiful stretch of beach offers views of lighthouses and the Cape May-Lewes ferry boats that come and go throughout the day. The ferry terminal features a dockside bar and grill. There\`s also a children\`s play area by the ferry terminal. Cape Henlopen Seashore State Park is just two miles from the condo. You can bike or drive into the park and enjoy the gorgeous sand dunes, pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches, surfing, a fishing pier, lighthouses, WWII lookout towers, trails and The Seaside Nature Center. We also highly recommend visiting the state park for gorgeous sunrise and sunset viewing from \`The Point\` (north end of park). Herring Point (south end of the park) is a great beach during the day and beautiful at sunset as well. We see dolphins swimming there frequently. Bike trails are plentiful and easy to access around town. You can walk or bike just about anywhere in Lewes. The beaches, parks, restaurants, ice cream parlors, coffee shops and shopping are all at your fingertips. Two complimentary cruiser bicycles are provided during your stay to make this even easier. Our favorite feature of the condo is the ability to walk out the front door and immediately begin exploring our charming beach town by foot or bicycle. Our condo has free resident parking, which is hard to find in Lewes. If you choose to venture a further distance to Milton, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey, Bethany or Fenwick Island, you\`ll always have an open parking space waiting for you when you return from exploring. A public EV charging station is located directly across the street from our condo next to the Pig & Publican restaurant. Uber and Lyft services are also available in the area. • We\`re just across the bridge (100 yards) from the Dogfish Inn. East of the canal. • Need additional bicycles or bicycle supplies? Visit Lewes Cycle Sports directly across the street. • Need kayaks, paddle boards, or other beach rentals? Visit Quest Adventures directly across the street. This condo is best suited for a couple or a family with young kids. The location was great, just ashore walk over the canal bridge to historic Lewes. The condo was clean, well-appointed and great for a limited number of people. Rental was perfect base, and Mike provided simple easy check in and out. He was great about communicating ahead of time and responding to any questions very quickly. The property is well maintained and have everything you need. We stayed mid April and the Spring weather was perfect. Our main intention was fishing (salt water and fresh)- unfortunately it was too early into the season and boats are not in operation until May 1\. You can do surf fishing on the beach but there hardly any bites. The town itself is very quaint- the condo is a perfect walking distance to restaurants and shops and there is something for everyone. The cruiser bikes were awesome- our teens rode the bikes all over town. We truly enjoyed our stay. ##### Romarie M. Being near the beach seemed like a much better idea so we found their place on Vrbo. It was a great set up in a really cool historic building. Location was great…centrally located. Easy to get to beach or town in minutes. And the Lewes daily market across the street was super convenient (great people!!). Condo was comfortable and clean. So recently renovated that it feels like staying in a brand new place. Exceptionally clean and everything needed for stay is provided. Short walk to beach, shops, restaurants. Two provided bikes are a huge plus with the miles of great trails in the area. Spent beautiful days exploring the area on bikes, to Rehoboth and back. The apt was as expected, very clean and just enough space for the 4 of us. Apt is very thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed. The location is awesome between town and beach so walking to either for us was easy. It’s a funky building and all the years I’ve been coming here I never knew what it was. Now I know! Mar 16, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Excellent in every way! This is probably the cleanest, best organized rental I’ve ever stayed at! The property is pretty and comfy with tons of natural light in the living area. The bedrooms have no windows, which is actually fine since it’s nice and dark for sleeping. Everything is pristine and the towels and bed linens are great quality. I liked the hand soap so much I went online and ordered some. 😊 Communication with our host was excellent and checking in and out was super easy. The location can’t be beat. We walked to a friendly pub across the street for dinner one night and there are so many more options close by. The beach was a short drive, but it’s walkable too. The unit is in a funny little building that was originally a market in the 50s but was later turned into condos. Tons of free parking and nice and quiet.
