"The Cacharel is like going back in time to a French ranch house. Staff is incredible- food is amazing. Gorgeous large pool (eat there!) rooms all have AC and are comfortable. Incredible location right by marshes with hundreds of flamingos and ample places to ride the iconic white horses. We had no idea how amazing this part of the world is. "The Mercure Arles is in a perfect position to explore the old part of Arles on foot. The only cars allowed in the old part are those owned by people who live there, so walking is the only way to explore. It’s a lot of fun exploring the narrow streets and there’s plenty of places to rest along the way. The Mercure is clean, the rooms are not big but adequate and the every staff member we encountered was professional, helpful and engaging. The amenities are basic, just hand and body wash, which appears to be the case in most French Mercure Hotels. There was no fridge in our room which we found very unusual and medication needed to be handed to staff for refrigeration which was a little inconvenient. We ate at the restaurant but there are many more better places to eat that have a more diverse menu. I think the restaurant mainly caters to French coach tours and it is probably more suited to that clientele. If position is important in your travel plans then Mercure Arles is very well placed."

"When I first arrived at the hotel to check in, I tried to use the automatic system, but this asked for me to pay the full price, of which I had already paid most of it through the Expedia app. I had to then call the hotel and the staff came down and checked me in. When I entered the room, it stunk of chlorine, making it hard to breathe. The shower was not fully clean and the toiletries (2 bottles of hand soap) were not good. The rooms were not sound proofed at all and when lying in my bed, I had several ants climb over the bed and myself. The free WiFi advertised only covered the reception area and was private with the only way of accessing it by scanning a qr code on the owner's phone. The breakfast was ok, but not great. Very little option, with several vending machines and machines not working. The location of the property is good however, with the bus stop close by, several beaches less than an hour walk and 2 large supermarkets very close by including a few restaurants/ take out places."
