Nestled in lush rainforest, Laudat serves as the gateway to the twin cascades of Trafalgar Falls where hiking trails lead to natural wonders. Adventurous travellers can trek through Morne Trois Pitons National Park before cooling off with a snorkel at nearby Champagne Beach's bubbling underwater springs.

![The entrance to this narrow rainforest slot canyon is dark and the water is cold, but it's well worth the adventure to swim on in and check out the waterfall at the back.  The canyon is about 100ft (33m) long and ends where a small waterfall rushes in.  The water is too deep for standing, and the current is pushing you out, so you'll be swimming upstream on the way in.  You can rest on a rock ledge once you get to the falls.  Don't forget to look up - ferns, vines and other leafy plants cascade into the canyon from far above.

For you movie buffs, a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed here.  It happens around the 40 minute mark, after the pirates fall into a gorge while being chased by natives.  Apparently the crew spent two days filming here in the cold water. Definitely not worth 90€/night."
