I informed housekeeping in the morning that the ceiling in my bathroom was leaking water. They promised to send someone immediately. I returned to the room over 12 hours later to find the water dripping even more quickly and the towels I’d left on floor drenched and puddles of water on the floor. Rather than immediately offering to change my room, the front desk offered a $25 food and drink voucher. I then spoke with the manager who after lengthy discussion grudgingly agreed to put me in another room. The manager initially said that the hotel was overbooked, then that no rooms with two beds were available (I was travelling solo so two beds were unnecessary), until she finally offered an available, albeit larger, room.) I did not want or take the voucher. All I wanted was to swiftly and politely be switched to another room. If the manager had acknowledged the hotel’s failure to fix the leak during the day and immediately offered another room rather than trying to convince me that it was fine to stay in a room with a leak and growing puddle on the floor, I would not be writing a negative review! Until that incident on the last day of my stay, the hotel was perfectly fine.
