It’s lovely here at Lakeside in the little cabin with fireplace, kitchen, little eating nock with a full mini refrigerator We are currently sitting on the front porch of our cabin enjoying an evening beverage. We simply love being here enjoying the fresh air, pine trees, lake and mountains. Everything one needs to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the pines. Every evening at about 17PM and again at 7AM a flock of geese fly by while we sit outside enjoying a quiet moment reviewing our daily adventures and talking to family about our upcoming visits to see them. Truely memorable moments which will have to be repeated next time we visit this area. The area reminds us of our home in Denmark. The Check-in was kind of annoying. You fill out an on-line form that doesn't say that you have to then walk around the property to get your key at the Restaurant, where you have more paperwork. The room was clean and as advertised with a GREAT BIG Screen TV. But the King Bed was lumpy and sagging left, right and center! Not good. The chairs and dinette and the cramped outdoor seating in front of the room, was just OK. The basic kitchen worked except for the coffee maker. The Shower Flow was outstanding...a real back pounding after a long day outside. Nice. The Restaurant on property has LOUD Rockin' music and screaming kids....but it all quieted down to nothing by nine pm. No problem. Friendly Staff was a plus. The Big Fish Plate I had was very good, as were the beer and liquor prices. The 'New School Backyard Brew Pub Scene', with the cornhole, firepits, grassy expanse and tall trees all around was great. So overall, if comfort is your thing, I would look elsewhere. You sign in and get your key at the restaurant. When you leave, you just leave the key on the counter and leave the cabin door unlocked. Cabin-No closet/dressers. Warm/ Hot water pressure was not very good at all, but was the same way down the road so it looks like that might be just how it is in the area. Not a lot of steps and plenty of walking room. There is a wooded area behind the village, but no signs or notices of who it belongs to. Despite the busy Friday and Saturday evening at the bar and the busy road, the area was fairly quiet. It was sunny and in the 70s the whole weekend with no humidity so the air conditioner worked perfectly. The view of the lake is to die for! Village-The Tipsy Hippy bar was our favorite spot here. The staff were friendly and when the place got busier, so did they. We sat inside at the bar, but there is also an outside seating area that was a hot spot. The restaurant and bar are literally right next door to the lodgings. However, the antique store and boutiques do not seem to be open at all. There were also no Uber drivers available during our trip, so unless you have family in the area, you will need a rental car as there is not a lot within a 2 block walking distance. We were able to Door Dash from Walgreens.
