Although the lake is closed and lowered while Hurricane Helene cleanup continues, there is much that our beautiful foothills area has to offer. LAKE ADGER, LAKE LANIER, and MIRROR LAKE suffered no damage, so homes and those lakes are available. BALD MOUNTAIN LAKE in the resort is open and beautiful. We are welcoming guests in over 60 beautiful homes to use as a "home base" for visiting nearby towns, restaurants, shops, hiking areas, and seasonal special events in Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, Saluda, and Tryon. Golf is open to the public at Rumbling Bald, and local area wineries, breweries, trails, and music are within an hour's drive. Many of the Chimney Rock shops are set up at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion. Chimney Rock Park is now open! This is a quiet residential neighborhood; no parties or events are allowed. So nice for family gatherings! The open floor plan and three levels of living space make Above It All your perfect family vacation destination. With three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and an open loft with a futon couch, this home sleeps up to 6 people comfortably and is awaiting your arrival. From the main level, two entry points lead to a large wrap-around deck that is perfect for soaking up the fresh mountain air and enjoying all that nature has to offer. The kitchen is also located on the home's first level, featuring designer elements and opening up to the dining room, where you’ll enjoy more of the home's modern and rustic charm. You’ll find a classic wood-burning stove between the kitchen and living room to elegantly warm the home and your spirits during the crisp and cool winter months. Also, on the first level is a bedroom and bathroom outfitted with a queen bed and stylish white decor. This bathroom is accessible from the kitchen as well. Nice loft area that is perfect for guests who need to work during their stay! As you ascend the staircase to the home's upper level, you will notice the sleek metal balusters that line the staircase and the loft area. This design element mingles perfectly with the home's chimney and modern yet rustic feel. The mid-century style furniture and the view from the window above the desk are sure to invoke inspiration and a sense of well-being even in those who wish they could have left their work behind. There is a futon for relaxing or visiting with others during your work. There is limited use of WiFi available - WiFi is not appropriate for streaming or downloading large files, but rather for checking emails and other necessities. This level also features a lovely master bedroom that is bathed in the morning sunshine! This room can comfortably sleep one or two people, featuring a queen bed, a walk-in closet, and a single-person jetted tub. The entertainment room is perfect for spending time with family! The lower level of Above It All is where you will spend time playing games and watching movies with the whole family. You will find a small sofa, a television, and a ping-pong table here. I have stayed at many properties in the area and this one is easily my favorite. In a great, gated community, just down the road from a grocery store and gas station (Ingles). Amazing mountain views from the property, and even more views around the neighborhood; taking walks there is a must. The home had everything we needed, beds were comfortable. Our only issue was that after driving 13 hrs we arrived 30min before check in time and asked to have access to the house. We had received a text at 1pm that the house was ready and yet we were not allowed access 30 minutes before. They make a huge deal about not arriving early instead of focusing on some of the details of the property such as no laundry baskets (had to carry dirty clothes downstairs in garbage bags) and cobwebs on the walls in the basement living area. Mostly used the cabin at night since we did day trips to Greenville SC, Hendersonville and Asheville. The reason for a 3 star rating is that the overall cleanliness of the cabin needed improvement. It is in a neighborhood setting. Homes are well set apart. There were items that needed to be replaced or fixed: a broken upper dishwasher rack, toaster oven that worked poorly/needs to be replaced, wood rot in some planks in the wood porch and stairs and a broken back door lock. We called Carolina Properties and they sent someone the evening of our arrival to fix the lock. He was wonderful. Very nice outdoor propane grill (and a charcoal grill in addition to that).
