"My husband and I booked the cottage for our three grown sons and their spouses and children. There was a lot of room for everyone and the cottage is well stocked and decorated beautifully. The only thing we couldn’t find was a pizza pan but we made a cookie sheet work for our needs. We all had an absolutely fantastic stay at Simon’s cottage. Our grandchildren were in the water at the shoreline the entire week. Even our dogs loved every minute of their holiday. Simon was wonderful to deal with and commutation was very easy. We will definitely be back!"

"My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family on Lake Joe. We were pleasantly surprised by the place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was exceptionally clean, light-filled with comfortable beds and seating. The kitchen was very well appointed and even had sharp knives. The bathroom had a large tub and shower as well as a stackable w/d in its closet, very useful. The host was pleasant, accommodating and responsive and lives nearby. It was great to rent where the owner goes above and beyond. Trains are heard nearby during the day which we found nostalgic since we grew up near there. Since we had access to the lakes nearby, it was ideal."

"Our extended family spent a week here in August. While we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the location to others, there were a few shortcomings which we will also cite. Positives: 1) The house is large, modern, and provided ample space for those indoor days, and allowed each family to have some privacy 2) The beachfront is excellent. Nice and sandy, easy to walk out to the lake and enjoy a swim or play 3) The location offered a great deal of privacy. Not much traffic or noise 4) Enough lawn to have a small game of soccer or football 5) Amazing sunset and sunrise views, either from the dock or 1 of the 3 enclosed gazebos. 6) The owners were incredible to deal with. Very responsive and apologetic when issues arose. Key shortcomings: 1) Water, water, water. While the lake was incredible, we did have 2 issues with house water during our stay. Day 1 the well ran dry, and despite effective recovery plans from the owners, I would not expect this to happen with a premium rental. We were less impressed with the Muskoka Rental company, who took a more laissez-faire attitude. And on our last day, the basement plumbing became clogged. Again, not the end of the world with multiple bathrooms to use, but a nuisance nonetheless. 2) The only other drawback is the lack of proximity to other activities or events (or even restaurants). MacTier is a small town with a Foodland and an LCBO. To do anything of note required a 25-minute + drive. Not a show-stopper, but just an FYI"

"We had a great time!! Relaxing !! View was fantastic-Wow! The cottage was perfect -we were amazed how clean it was. I get to to bbq and eat on the patio overlooking the lake-Wow! Love it! And did camp fire which i never experienced before. Our family will cherish those moments. We made it memorable! My 3 yr old granddaughter still talks about it and says," i want to go back to the cottage!" Thank you for being honest about the cottage, it is exactly how you claim it to be-wonderful! There was no disappointment or surprises! Thank you!"
