I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa and overall had a great experience. The resort is beautiful, with amazing views, well-kept grounds, and a peaceful atmosphere that truly reflects the spirit of Maui.
The buffet breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and varied, with tropical fruits, pastries, and hot items that made each morning feel special. Even without made-to-order omelets, the quality was excellent.
Valet parking stood out as well. The staff were friendly and professional, often asking if we needed help with luggage rather than just taking it, which felt thoughtful and respectful. That said, the valet process itself was inconvenient. Instead of linking cars to room numbers, they use a random number tied to the key. If you do not have it when calling down, they cannot retrieve your car, which caused some frustration.
While most of the staff were polite, the overall service did not quite match the VIP-level warmth I have experienced at other Hawaiian resorts. I usually feel more genuinely welcomed elsewhere.
Still, the resort has a lot to offer. With a few improvements to service and guest experience, it could easily be a top-tier stay. I would definitely consider returning.
