Tranquil, private, and beautifully situated only 50 feet from the shores of Mitten Lake, this log home in Lac Du Flambeau will help you relax, unwind, and take in the serene beauty of Wisconsin's Northwoods. This lakefront property is wonderful for glimpsing black bears and other passing wildlife, canoeing from the private dock, and snowmobiling all winter on the network of surrounding trails. The living space is simple and classic, offering a fully equipped kitchen, a sunroom lined with windows, and four bedrooms. Please note that this property does not have A/C. This home is located on the southeastern shores of Mitten Lake, an exceptionally quiet, non-motorized body of water that awaits just down a path through the trees. In the summer, you'll be mere steps from your dock, where you can put in the provided canoe or your own kayak, raft, or stand-up paddleboard. You'll have access to an extensive network of ATV and snowmobile trails in the area, as well as excellent open-water fishing in the summer, ice fishing in the winter, and several walking, hiking, and biking trails nearby. The town of Lac Du Flambeau is seven miles east, as is the ever-popular Lake of the Torches Resort Casino. Things to Know Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. The lake is for trolling motors only. This property is managed by Vacasa Wisconsin LLC. The place had a significant amount of flies (dead and living) when we arrived as well as wasps in the screened porch. The manager responded quickly to vac up the bugs but not in the porch which surprised us as we met them in the por h when they were doing their work. There is no gas grill which i hope they correct in their listing. There were two charcoal grills but both were laying on their sides when we arrived and both had not been cleaned for sometime. There were 3 Adirondack chairs outside but two were broken. The lake is quiet and view from porch is great - better if no bugs were in the porch. Again. The manager worked to address some of these items which we appreciated. ##### Kevin H. Unfortunately, the place has generally not been well cared for. The carpet is stale and should be removed, the plumbing and septic system are dire need of attention, and the exterior areas lack any type of furniture/spaces that would inspire spending time outside. The stairs need a handrail and it would be very easy to install an inexpensive window A/C to make it more comfortable. The screened porch was great, but again, it lacked any furniture that would make it a space to spend time in. Wi-fi was good. Kitchen was fine. Bedrooms were clean and had nice new bedding. All guests had ample room. Operating light switches for common spaces was not intuitive. Also the lower patio door would not open from the inside. Lots of space with a huge living room for a big group. That said, our family usually likes to spend a lot of time by the lake… At this property, it’s really hard to access the waterfront and there is really no way to enter the water safely for swimming (lots of fallen trees in the water). But maybe if u wanted to fish off a dock, this would b a good fit. This property is in a heavily wooded area… we were here in early July. Mosquitoes were out of control and made sitting outdoors impossible. There is a screen porch that helped. ##### Anna D. Never turned on the TV. We used the canoe, but wished that we had been warned to bring or rent our own paddles and life preservers. The weather was perfect so we did not mind the lack of air conditioning at all. The screened in porch was certainly the highlight for us. We ate all of our meals there. I recommend providing a real table and chairs instead of the bar—we moved the dining table out there. Because of COVID, we brought our own food. We did miss a dishwasher, but we understood we were supposed to be in a cabin. ##### Jennifer L. We are also disappointed on not being refunded on some of the cost that is included in the price..we had to carry water in a five gallon pail to use the toilet...we were paying for service of electricity and water, that we didn't have the first 24 hours of our stay. Trying to keep our food safe and cold was a challenge,along with trying to move in the house by small laterns we bought for the dark hours. The only thing we are supposed to be reimbursed for is ice, batteries,and lights we bought to try and get us through the stay. ##### Heather R.
