The hacienda is located just outside of La Ribera, a quaint traditional Mexican fishing village an hours drive north of San Jose Del Cabo airport. This is the ideal location for a relaxing vacation away from the fast pace of everyday life. La Ribera is home to a number of small family run restaurants, grocery stores and shops. The locals are very friendly and helpful. We do recommend a rental car due to the distance of the local amenities and attractions in the area. Working with an award winning architect and builder the house was created to reflect the finest in Mexican style, which is apparent throughout. The hacienda has been created with comfort and convenience in mind with traditional architecture, Mexican finishes such as Talavera tile and a spacious interior that opens out to a large veranda and welcoming non heated pool. In 2024 we added a new hot tub which will be on complementary for 4 hours per day. Additional time can be added if you desire at and extra cost of $20 US dollars per hour. The two master suites have luxurious king size beds with perfect views of the Sea of Cortez through the expansive sliding glass doors. Each bedroom has a large adjoining bathroom that has a walk in shower with a bench, as well as a double vanity. The sliding glass doors can be left open at night allowing you to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the lapping waves. The third bedroom has two queen size beds and a large walk in closet. this bedroom also has views of the sea of Cortez with is own sliding glass door and small private patio. The adjoining bathroom has a double vanity and large walk in shower with a bench. The large central great room is perfect for gatherings. The seating area provides for easy conversation and there is a television and DVD player with a large variety of movies. The professional, chef designed kitchen is spacious and comfortable. allowing guests to gather during food preparation and dining, as there is island seating for 6\. The dining room has a large table seating 8 . The veranda spans one entire side of the house, with fantastic views of the Sea of Cortez. This is where the pool and gas fire-pit are located, where you can spend many relaxing hours during the day and night. A sun sheltered outdoor dining area is another option for enjoying the tranquility of Hacienda del Sol. If you enjoy cooking on the BBQ, there is a large outdoor gas grill only steps away from the kitchen. The world renowned Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park with its spectacular living coral reef and abundant marine life is located 16 miles south of La Ribera. There is a small village with facilities that can set up dive tours, and provide diving and snorkeling equipment if you do not have your own. There are also a few small restaurants in Cabo Pulmo. Twenty five miles north of La Ribera is the tourist town of Los Barriles where wind surfing and Sailing are popular sports November thru to March. There are restaurants, shops, and hotels, as well as a larger grocery store. Love music and art festivals can occur during the tourist season. The Sea of Cortez is one of the best bodies of water for fishing in the world. Locals and tourists alike love to seek out the RoosterFish from the shore. There are also Sierra, Dorado, Marlin, Red Snapper and Tuna that are popular catches with the fishermen. If you prefer, arrangements can be made for a panga boat to pick you up directly in front of the hacienda for a day of ocean fishing. Charter boats are also available for hire. We can also arrange for a home chef service, daily housekeeping, groceries deliveries, ATV rentals, horse back riding or a relaxing poolside massage. Theses can all be arranged prior to your arrival. There would be additional fees for these arrangements. Gina was quick to respond to all questions we had prior to the trip. Upon arrival we were taken away by the gated entry and visual of house / backdrop of ocean. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, including any and all beach toys imaginable. The beach itself was beautiful and relatively deserted. People are around, but very few. We did day trips to Santiago and Los Barriles; had a dinner at the Four Seasons, and also had a delicious meal prepared by Ramon. We paddleboarded in the ocean, fished (and caught!) from the beach, and went on shell hunts. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of La Ribera and the East Cape. We practically had the beach to ourselves the whole time & we went in the water every day. The sunsets were a particularly stunning time to be in the water. It’s a bit of a drive to Cabo/back but there are plenty of good restaurants closer by. The house has everything you could possibly want. We had a fabulous stay! ##### Lisa G. The beach is wide and flat, perfect for long walks. Secluded for peace and quiet but close enough to La Ribera and Los. Barriles. Ramon was very friendly and helpful. Access to the beach it right outside the back door. The spa and pool are clean and in working order. The property manager Ramon was available for anything we needed. A perfect stay in a perfect villa! We stayed here for our honeymoon after a wedding in Cabo and it was the ideal place to unwind. The amenities in the Hacienda are endless including beach and snorkel equipment, gorgeous linens, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and most of all, peace, privacy and tranquility. La Ribera is a rugged little town with some good bars and restaurants, and the four seasons is nearby if you really want to get upscale. The property hosts were absolutely incredible, leaving us a nice gift for our honeymoon and making us feel so welcome. Hacienda Del Sol home is wonderful and Gina the owner is prompt to respond all requests. Ramone the property manager is awesome and checked on us to make certain everything was okay. A beautiful place to chill and enjoy the serenity of the ocean. We rented ATV’s and they brought them right to the property. We drove ATV’s on the beach and to Las Barrilles, so much fun. We caught fish right off the beach in front of the house. Fished with Trino in La Ribera and caught 3 nice dorado. Efran's is our favorite local restaurant. Ramone and Gina were both very helpful and kind. There are stores close by for groceries. Rented a 4 seat ATV thru QuadDogs. They were great to work with and delivered it to the house. Highly recommend quad dogs ATV rental used everyday along the beach for fishing & playing! Fabulous sunrises & sunsets right outside your door! Pool was great! Ramone & Lucy provided us a fabulous meal one night everyone enjoyed! We also found a great restaurant that prepared our big catch of pompano & dorado on our fishing day! Enjoyed Los Barilles, Cabo Pulmo & Santiago really close by fun places to visit for shopping, waterfalls & nature along with snorkeling! Accurate description so it did not disappoint. Was so well stocked and it really made a huge difference for us. We made most all our food at the house. Costco in los cabo was our first stop before heading out. Biggest help was the purified water dispenser! Sleeping to the wonderful sound of the surf was epic as well as the view from our bedroom! This is our 4th consecutive year coming to mexico and this was our favorite place by far! Gina and Ramone were so helpful and accommodating and responsive. We had a blast with the paddleboards, snorkel gear, kayak, boogie boards. We loved the lounge chairs and the firepit. Pool was not heated and there is no hot tub, but we loved cold plunging the pool. There are pool floaties but we never did end up using them. We also loved the firepit! This place is so quiet and peaceful. Locals were friendly - a true taste of mexico! La ribera is more local people and los barrilos felt more american. Not much for groceries in la ribera. We went to a supermarket in los barrilos. Souvenirs on main street- fun shopping! Playa arbolito was incredible! We saw a shark, beautiful fish, and a sting ray. Not many people there. Would give this place 10 stars if possible- a truly special place to stay.
