Calm & total tranquility in the hilly Morvan countryside, nestled on the immediate edge of the forest, on the south-eastern hillside overlooking a vast plateau of wooded meadows. Very beautiful open view of the Morvan countryside and the town of Autun from the site (not far from the gîte). Nestled at the bottom of the green Méchet valley and its fish-filled river, in the heart of a splendid landscaped setting of gentle mountains dotted with deep wild forests (to be explored during relaxing walks or mountain bike rides), the small town of La Grande Verrière (one of the oldest villages in Morvan located 3.5 km away), is home to notable heritage (medieval castles, some of which are ruins & manor houses) and has a sublime preserved environment of greenery & nature. Comfortable cottage. Warm country character enhanced by careful heritage restoration (period stone, brick & wood lintels, magnificent original stone vaulted ceiling on the kitchen side, beams, etc.). Totally exotic atmosphere of an old residence steeped in history. Lots of charm & lots of character. Large gravel terrace opening onto a pleasant grassy garden. Access to a private tennis course just a stone's throw away (common to the 2 gîtes on the property). Completely restored early 19th century agricultural outbuilding - offering the rare privilege of access to a "private" tennis court - nestled on a vast, largely wooded property, 11 km from Autun labeled "Ville d'Art & d 'History', historic "Relais de Rome" in the heart of Burgundy, rich in 2000 years of human presence (exceptional heritage and all amenities on site, including a large number of sports & leisure facilities). Total tranquility in the middle of the Morvandelle countryside, in a mini hamlet of 2 gites nestled on the south-eastern hillside, in the hollow of a soothing unspoiled setting of gentle mountains, between bucolic bocage meadows & vast forests.
