The area is convenient to food options, a subway line, numerous temples, and Kyoto National Museum. It is walkable to Kyoto station, about 15 minutes, but there is a convenient bus too. Only disappointment was not being able to accommodate our son on fold out couch, as this is why we booked this room. Just not enough room to get to the bathroom during the night. Not too big a deal as son lives in Kyoto and this was just for convenience.
