Even if you can only afford to stay here for one night, do it. If I could use only one word to describe the experience it’s magical. The family that owns and runs the hotel are the kindest, sweetest people I have ever met. The entire family even walked me to the door when I left and stood outside, waving and making sure I was safe. They speak good enough English to have a conversation with them and answered all of the questions I had about the property and their family. The room itself was immaculate, breathtaking, and transported me to another world. I stayed there for two nights and the first day I didn’t even want to leave the room. The pictures do not do it justice. The entire experience left me feeling at peace, humbled, and not wanting to leave. I hope I can stay with them again next time in Kyoto. The room was one of the most beautiful, unique and spacious rooms I have ever stayed in and was very comfortable. They stock the fridge with local Kyoto beverages and provide some of the best sesame crackers you will ever have. Breakfast is said to be top notch, but unfortunately did not partake. The three incredibly sweet inn keepers will take care of you, make sure you are greeted when arriving and leave with a friendly sayonara.
