Holiday Home in Ratagan by Dornie

Tighur is a charming single-storey cottage situated in the picturesque village of Ratagan in the northwest Highlands of Scotland. With views over the stunning Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range, the cottage is the perfect basecamp to explore the further reaches of the Highlands.

All rooms are on the ground floor.

The lounge has two leather sofas, black leather armchair, chest of drawers, wall-mounted 50” smart TV, views over Loch Duart and dramatic Five Sister of Kintail mountain range clearly visible.

The cottage has a separate dining room with a solid wood dining table, chairs, and views looking through to the rear garden. The modern fully fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, a separate double oven, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine, tumble dryer, and plenty of cupboard space. There is a door leading to the rear of the garden. The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, toilet, washbasin, and a heated towel rail. The shower room offers guests a walk-in shower, toilet, and washbasin. The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed, bedside cabinets with reading lamps, chest of drawers, and a wardrobe. The first twin room benefits from 2 single beds, bedside cabinet with reading lamp, wardrobe and views of the surrounding mountain range. The second twin room offers guests 2 single beds, wall mounted smart TV, bedside cabinet with reading lamp, wardrobe, and mountain views. The cottage offers guests a fully enclosed back garden with patio area, lawns, picnic table and chairs.

Guests have access to the entire property.

Tighur was a fantastic place to stay. A very central place 5min off the highway to Skye. Our 6 days were great. Beautiful views and lovely walks around the loch from a clean, warm and roomy property. It had everything you could need. Supermarket, petrol, restaurants and takeaways can all be found not too far away. Thanks for a very lovely stay.

Wonderful and spacious place
We really enjoyed our stay at Tigh Ur! We spent multiple days on Isle of Skye and also hiked the 5 Sisters. The place had all we need. A great living room, dining room and well-equipped kitchen. The house is close to Loch Duich which is wonderful for a walk or some fishing. We found that the closes grocery stores were a small SPAR in Balmacara or a Co-Op in Kyle, so make sure to grab some food on the trip to Ratagan. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come again!

We were 5-star happy with our stay in Ratagan. The house was extremely well appointed with everything we needed. Lovely view over the loch. Short half-hour drives to the Glenelg ferry, Eileen Donan castle and the Isle of Skye. A high recommend from us!

A wonderful base for our holiday
This is a lovely home located in a beautiful setting. It was cosy and comfortable accommodation and was very well equipped. We all, especially our 3 & 6 year old kids, also appreciated the fab selection of games in the property. This home was the perfect base for our daily explorations of Eilean Donan castle, Skye and the surrounding areas. We were very satisfied overall and would happily stay here again.
