Take It E-Sea is a top floor elevator-condo located in Ocean Dunes at the south end of Pleasure Island. Recently updated with two king sized beds, this ocean front 2 bedroom-2 bath condo offers expansive views of the ocean with lots of sea life visible from the deck. Ocean Dunes amenities include: a large indoor pool and 3 outdoor pools, fitness room, playground, tennis and basketball courts, hot tub and dry sauna. Close by is the Historic Beach area of Fort Fisher, the North Carolina Aquarium, Southport Ferry, and the popular Kure Beach fishing pier. Take It E-Sea sleeps 6 comfortably with a King bed in the master bedroom, King bed in the 2nd bedroom, and Queen sofa/sleeper in the living room. The unit has Wifi and High Definition TV’s in the living room and bedrooms. The pool is on a back street, not just downstairs. We never found the large gazebo with ocean views as pictured. We had 2 cars and were given 2 parking passes, but only 1 spot was available at our unit. Our other car had to be parked at the opposite end of the parking lot in “guest parking.” Kids were playing near the car and the alarm went off 3 times in one day. Beware of the air vent in the floor near the sliding glass door. It’s not secured and becomes dislodged very easily if you step on it or touch it with your foot. Huge fall hazard, especially with our two-year-old! Take your own trash bags, toilet paper, kitchen towel, and paper towels. ##### Tessa R. The unit had a clean look and the layout was very nice. The patio facing the ocean was the hit of the weekend. Besides giving us a great, relaxing view of the beach, we had a treat in seeing a multitude of pelicans diving from great heights into the ocean in search of fish. It was quite hard to locate the building and then the condo but once we found it we were thrilled with the view. There were several minor things that annoyed us which I won’t bother mentioning but the main thing is the place needed a DEEP cleaning….under furniture, along baseboards, the air intake, etc. for a rental unit for 3 nights it was ok. Well appointed and in an amazing location. Perhaps even more impressive was the service. We got caught in the gas shortage and the property managers helped us to extend our stay (thank goodness the unit was available for a few more days). Even more impressive, the staff at Carolina Retreats called us to let us know when a gas station nearby had fuel before it showed up on any of the apps we were tracking.
