A new mattress in the Primary Bedroom Suite was added in Spring 2024! Welcome to the highly desirable Ocean Dunes resort! Our vacation rental is located on the oceanfront, giving you access to an expanse of stunning beachfront views at the southern tip of Pleasure Island. Enjoy the amenities of the resort, including multiple outdoor pools, tennis courts, shuffleboard, grills, and playgrounds for the kids. After a day at the beach, visit the recreation center for an indoor pool, spa, sauna, exercise room, and clubhouse. Relax, unwind, and make lasting memories at this beautiful destination! Note: there are no facilities at Ocean Dunes for charging golf carts. Ocean Dunes covered parking is not suitable for large SUVs, please seek a first come first serve visitor parking spot for large vehicles. Always use your parking pass! Elevator to property level The Fitness Center is directly across the street from our parking lot in walking distance. The Rec Center pool is open year-round except for holidays or any routine or emergency maintenance scheduled at the Rec Center. Property Level: Kitchen: full kitchen, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, shaker cabinets, tile backsplash, seating for 4 at the bar. Dining Room: seating for 4 at the table, with bar top seating for 4. Living Room: Oceanview, large TV, 1 sleeper sofa, and 2 side chairs. Deck: access from the living room and master bedroom. Overlooks the ocean. 2 high-top chairs, 4 Adirondack chairs, and 1 lounge chair. Washer and dryer: located in the kitchen. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement. Kitchen was well stocked and there was ample seating on the deck. Ocean views from the deck can't be beat and the beach wasn't too crowded since this is so far down the island. My only complaint is that the beds were VERY uncomfortable - I like a firm mattress but it felt like we were sleeping directly on box springs (we did not attempt the sofa bed, just the beds in the bedrooms). We are a family of 4 with a 2 and a 5 year old, and we loved our stay in this unit. The covered parking gave a great place to leave dirty beach toys, and the proximity to the beach/waves could not be beat. The rocks made for beautiful scenery and there was wider beach available if you go down the beach access and go to the left. Condo was clean and decorated nicely. The queen bed was very firm, but again the ocean views couldn't be beat. The covered deck was very spacious. The aquarium and Fort were both very close. We rented bikes from Troy S. and they delivered and picked up, and the fort/boardwalk/etc made great low-traffic places to ride. We rode down to the Kure Beach boardwalk most days, and got coffee at the Happie Hippie- also highly recommend. Carolina Beach and then Wilmington are both short/easy drives so there were no shortage of food and activity options nearby! We will definitely stay here again! ##### Melissa B. Keyless entry was awesome to have. Washer and dryer worked well. Check in was easy, but the Unit wasn’t available until an hour after planned checkin time. The sheets and bed were terrible. The sheets were cheap and didn’t stay on the bed. The bed was cheap and uncomfortable. I love staying at these condos, but I wish they would find a better way to deal with the garbage. This condo is as advertised; definitely not fancy, but generally in good shape. The appliances and bathroom facilities all worked great. Plenty of seating to eat and hang out. There is a fold-out couch as well as queen bed and 2 twins. Plenty of hot water. Bed comfort was maybe 2 out of 5, probably the biggest drawback. Maybe bring your own sheets if you have room in your luggage. Basically it feels like the owners have put the absolute cheapest options in for bedding because this is SUPER BEACH FRONT, like it is going to be swept into the ocean at any moment--why would you invest any more than necessary. They are literally doing beach restoration under the building itself and in the buildings next door. So you are going to get a fantastic beachfront experience; the tide comes up right under the deck. The views are to die for. You can definitely hear the neighbors upstairs if they choose to walk around. Because of the beach restoration, you do have to walk clear around the building to get to the beach access, but it's not that far. Communication with Sea Coast Rentals was confusing at first (emails left and right from all kinds of people), but as the date of the visit drew near, things seemed to straighten out. The beach is pretty quiet, not huge crowds of people at Memorial Day at least, although as I said, the weather was terrible. Overall, great beach front experience. ##### Julie Q.
