This landmark has been welcoming families to the Outer Banks for over 50 years! There are 1-4 bedroom cottages that each have a full kitchen, family room and screened in balcony. Our private beach access is directly across the street and a beautiful pool with elevated sun decks is on site. Each unit has heat/air, TV's, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig, toaster, pots/pans, dishes and silverware The Space: This 2 bed / 2 bath cozy cottage offers all the amenities of a small house in a beautiful and peaceful environment. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. This cottage has 3 entrances - one to the main living area / kitchen and 1 to each of the 2 master bedrooms. This allows guests staying in each bedroom access to their room from the outside without having to disturb others in the cottage. There is also a “lock-off” feature to separate the 2nd bedroom if desired. While in the cottage, You can enjoy relaxing in your bedroom, the family room or out on the screened in balcony. Each of the rooms in the cottage is equipped with a flat screen cable tv. Guest Access: As a guest, you will have access to your reserved room with: Family Area Full Kitchen Master Bedroom w King Bed Master Bedroom w 2 Queen Beds Private Open-Air Balcony Private Screened in Balcony Flat Screen TVs with Cable In addition, you have access to: Private Direct Beach Access Spacious Community Pool (May 1 - October 31) Elevated Lounging Decks with Ocean Views Coin Operated Laundry Facility The Neighborhood: You can stroll to some great local restaurants or take a short drive to nearby attractions such as H20BX water park, The Wright Brothers Memorial and Jockeys Ridge State Park. Getting Around: Parking is always free on site for paid guests. You can walk or bike to many restaurants and attractions. The beach is directly across the street and you can walk on the beach or walk/bike "The Beach Road" to other restaurants and attractions such as Kitty Hawk Pier. Uber/Taxi services are available. Other Things to Note: A stay at the Saltaire Cottages will require you to climb stairs. It is 20 stairs to this second floor unit...but the view is worth it if you are able. It is a great location and it is very clean and easy to check in, etc. However, I'm not a fan of the 4 pm check in and 10 am check out. I understand you can pay $50 more to adjust those hours, but wow, that is steep. A late check in AND early check out is really not acceptable IMHO. There were 4 of us and we were only given 4 K-cups for coffee. I think the rental price paid could have included at least 2 K-cups per person. The weather was cold (39 degrees at night) when we were there, so a blanket on the bed would have been nice. No blankets were found on the property. . . other than a lap blanket, which didn't cut it for me. Sounds like I have a lot of complaints doesn't it? Just offering suggested improvements. There is even an ocean view since it is on the second floor! We only stayed one night. We walked to a really good restaurant a block away, went on the beach at night for a walk, and left the next morning. The porch was nice to sit and see the beach, but the rain had it damp and dirty. The location is excellent as we were able to walk across the street to the beach. The kids loved having a pool too! While the unit was clean, the showers/plumbing is terrible. Our shower was extremely hot and several times the water would fluctuate during the shower. I was almost burned by the water!! The shower in the other bathroom has too high of water pressure.
