This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Location is EVERYTHING with this property. Nice walk to the beach, but the best was the incredible location to the bayside and the nature boardwalk. The house itself was pretty accurate to the listing. I would say the bathrooms need some love, but living spaces were great. The beds are super comfy which can be a struggle with rental places. Some of the outside space needed work. The screened in porch was pretty tattered, a bunch of the screens were damaged or missing. Overall this place was awesome and I would highly recommend. There are no beach chairs or umbrellas provided, we rented for the week. ##### Nicole S. It’s in the heart of Duck and a short walk to the shops and restaurants. The view from the decks are lovely looking at the sound. The higher deck has a small view of the ocean. The beach is a little bit of a walk. Evidently there is a beach pass to allow you to park at the end of the street. It would have nice if it was left for us at the house. The home is a bit dated , but clean. Most other homes we’ve rented in the past provided beach chairs and etc. We couldn’t find any. Also , no hair dryer. FYI. Bring one from home.
