This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The kitchen was well-equipped and the elevator was very handy for the less mobile members of our party + useful for getting bags to the top floor. The location was ideal, only 5 mins walk from the beach and a short drive to the shops at Duck. The grounds could have been better maintained; the lawn was non existent. Reviewer Comments: My family and I enjoyed our week at Shorehaven Too the week of July 4th. The house is well equipped, well decorated and had plenty of space for all 8 of us adults. We did have a little trouble with the mid level A/C unit but the property management company assisted us with individual air conditioning units to help cool things down. Otherwise, the house is relatively good shape with only some minor needed updates/repairs. Would recommend for a family looking for a week of relaxation in a home that is close to the beach, fishing at the sound, and all that the center of Duck has to offer (approximately 1 mile away). Upon arrival, I discovered three broken toilet seats, two non-functioning window blinds, dishwasher, full of dishes, recycling and trash bins, filled to the top, non-functioning, icemaker, multiple cobwebs on the front railings.The interior was beautiful, and well-maintained. Given the elements of the beach really could’ve used a good power wash on the exterior.
