This was our first trip to the OBX and we enjoyed staying at the Funky Flamingo! It looks tiny from the outside but we had plenty of room for the four in our family. The house was clean and the kitchen was adequately stocked for the cooking we did. The beds were comfortable, had good lighting and appreciated the ceiling fans. I also appreciated the water filter in the refrigerator, the water pressure in the shower and having a grill. The best feature was the close walk to the beach. Loved the area and how close it was to restaurants, shops and entertainment. The owner responded quickly to any messages sent and provided me great recommendations for our first trip. Cons: one bedroom does not have a window, the listing says there is a dishwasher and there is not, listing also says there was a blow dryer and there is not (I left mine at home for this reason), the glass on the back door was shattered and had a note on it not to use it-inconvenient when grilling dinner. Trash was not picked up on day posted. The listing and the check in/check out procedures need to be updated to adequately match the property. These are Small inconveniences but not a deal breaker. We were able to watch fireworks from the driveway instead of dealing with the very busy beach.
