Located on a quiet cul-de-sac behind the second security gate in the Vanderhorst Plantation, this vacation rental overlooks a scenic lagoon teaming with wildlife and is just a 5 minute walk to the pristine beaches of Kiawah Island! On entry, the foyer leads to a large bright and airy kitchen illuminated by windows and skylights with granite countertops, a breakfast bar, and large dining area adjacent to an outdoor deck with a BBQ grill and additional dining table and benches. The kitchen is truly a "chef's kitchen" featuring a 6 burner stove with 2 induction burners and 4 gas burners, a steam oven, two conventional ovens, a food processor, immersion blender, Le Creuset cookware, an air fryer and more! The first floor features a great room with high vaulted ceilings, natural sunlight, and windows that open to the deck overlooking the lagoon. The furnished screened porch is the ideal spot for relaxing or enjoy an afternoon drink on one of the three decks. Also included is a separate laundry room that opens to the front of the house near the outdoor shower and the two car garage. Quality Wi-Fi and Live TV are provided via YouTube TV for indoor entertainment. Renovations include an additional bedroom, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms! The first floor master suite includes a king bed, open sitting room and flat screen TV, a custom walk-in closet, and direct access to a deck with lagoon views. The ensuite bathroom boasts double sinks, soaking tub and separate shower with 3 shower heads. On the other side of the first-floor are two additional bedrooms, providing guests with privacy from the master suite. Both guest rooms feature queen beds, full closets and bathrooms (one shared, one private). One of the guest rooms opens directly out on a deck overlooking the lagoon. Located just off the kitchen is a bonus sleeper sofa with a TV, perfect for a movie night! The fourth bedroom with 2 twin beds is located on the second floor. A level 2 electric vehicle charger is available for an additional charge based upon usage. For larger groups or family reunions, book 192 Ryder Cup next door! The Vanderhorst Plantation is a private paradise nestled between East Beach Village and Ocean Park on Kiawah Island. This tranquil plantation boasts maritime forests, marshlands and lagoons, beautiful stretches of beaches and an abundance of wildlife away from the crowds for a true barrier island getaway. You’re perfectly placed to enjoy the best of Kiawah Island’s championship golf only minutes away at the pristine Osprey Point Golf Course and Peter Dye’s Ocean Course, or a short drive away from Turtle Point or Cougar Point Golf Course. Vanderhorst Plantation is only 4 miles from the top attractions of East Beach Village including Night Heron Park, Kiawah Nature Center, the Roy Barth Tennis Center, and luxury dining and shopping at The Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Although it is very close to one of the busiest roads and to the beach, you wouldn't know it, as it has the lagoon on the back side of the house (constant birds and an occasional alligator passing through) and the front of the house fronts on to a quiet cul de sac. This is perfect to bike to the beach, bike paths, tennis courts or one of your favorite restaurants. The back of the house has a screened in porch perfect for a quiet read, or several guests. The master bedroom is on its own and has a quiet, well appointed reading room and the master bathroom is perfect and complete with a walk in closet with lots of organizers. The living room is very comfortable and my husband thinks this is a great tv to watch all his sports on. There is a very nice semi open sitting room adjoining the living room. There are two guest rooms with complete bath on the main floor. Although the bathrooms aren't updated, they are totally functional and clean. The upstairs has a delightful bedroom with twin beds and the room is decorated in beach colors. There is also an office that if needed can be used as a backup bedroom as it has a pull out couch. It is fun to watch the crows try to stand on the rim of the fountain and try to sip water...they are very innovative. The deer sometimes come right up to the fountain early morning or during the evening. Kiawah is a nature lover's delight and this house is perfect to explore from. Don't forget the 9 mile long pristine beach perfect for walking/running/biking. Enjoy. ##### Lynn S.
