Really lovely venue. Clean, spacious and attentive staff. They went out of their way to help! The food was delicious- we had the breakfast and, even as a big eater, I had to leave some of the full veggie english (amazing sausages!)! The pancakes were great too! We also used the packed lunch making facility for our climb to Helvellyn (which you can do from the hotel!) and this was also really nice. Would highly recommend. The only thing that would improve the hotel for me would be a dry room for wet hiking gear!

What a great place to stay. The staff are fantastic. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The location is very central to all the lakes district activities. Can’t recommend the Kings Head highly enough.

Whilst my room was small, it had all I needed. The highlight was the staff: reception and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Polite, attentive, efficient. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The restaurant menu for dinner was ok but sometimes a wider simpler choice would have been nice.

Very clean, with very courteous staff. It's an old roadside inn, so there's no air conditioning and lots of traffic noise, which I struggled with. My single room had everything I needed, except a wardrobe. A couple of hooks on the doors would have helped enormously, as I had nowhere to hang my dresses during my stay.

Beautiful Location

What a lovely hotel! I love the atmosphere - the way it is decorated is serene, and yet you can still see the age in the building definitely in a very well kept way. Highly recommend this hotel as the service was amazing, the food was very delicious and the rooms were comfortable and clean! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Nice place in the countryside
