The Nomad Hotel is in a cluster with a couple of other hotels in a really lovely neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. It’s next-door to the Radisson, which is a great landmark for taxi drivers. The staff in the hotel are excellent. They all spoke English along with several other languages and were helpful no matter what kind of request we had at what kind of hour. Both my friend and I stayed in rooms on the first floor, called the cozy rooms. They both had a queen size bed, and the usual amenities. There is a safe in the closet where I could leave my passport and extra cash without worry. The bed was comfortable and the room was just what I needed as a homebase for exploring. The music in the courtyard in the morning was audible in the room, but once I asked the front desk staff if it was possible to turn it down until later in the morning, this was an easy thing to fix. The rooms on the first floor were up a short flight of stairs, but there is an elevator in this hotel. Breakfast was included with the room, and it was always good, no matter what we ordered. I often had oatmeal, but I also learned that they made the best waffles that I’ve ever had. The rooms were extremely reasonable in price, but this is partially a function of the great exchange rate to USD. They brought 2 huge bottles of water every day, whether they clean the room or not, which was great, because the water is not drinkable in Nepal for foreigners.
