This is a one bedroom condo in Kapaa on the island of Kauai. It has a King size bed in the bedroom and a double sleeper sofa in the living room. That means it comfortably sleeps up to 4\. The condo features a full kitchen, all appliances (including a blender for those great tropical drinks), dishes, linens, etc. The unit has WiFi internet access as well as a smart TV and cable. We also leave beach towels, flashlights, boogie boards, coolers and beach chairs for your use. So far, our guests have been wonderful about leaving them for the next person and even add to the collection! There are gas BBQs by the pool. All you need are your shorts, slippahs, and a smile! This is a second floor unit with a beautiful view of the coconut coast and is located about 300 feet from the beach across a grass field with a sidewalk leading from the unit to the beach. The beach pictures are taken from the end of the sidewalk looking North and South. As you can see, the beach is very quiet and uncrowded. Plantation Hale is located in Kapaa, about eight miles North of the Lihue Airport. It is next to the Coconut Plantation Marketplace for those of you familiar with the island. The main road around Kauai is shaped like a horseshoe with no roads on the north shore. We are located in the center of the horseshoe and equal distances to the end of the road in both directions. You can fish, swim and snorkel at the beach out front or go body surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, water-skiing or golfing a short drive away. There is also plenty of shopping close at hand. Gift shops and art galleries abound with lots of fun little restaurants in Kapaa town. Don't miss the farmer's market with fresh fruit and produce at bargain prices. It did have maintenance issues and wasn't quite as pictured or described. The issues weren't trip killers, but definitely worth noting. The bed, while super comfortable, was squeaky, like to roll over, it squeaks. The shower needs new supports under it. My husband and I are both pretty fit people and it sagged badly in the center for each of us, but otherwise the bathroom is very nice. The kitchen cabinets wouldn't stay closed but the kitchen was well appointed and really did have everything we needed otherwise. The AC was more of a problem than anything else. These are mini split systems and you are asked not to leave them running. Our system smelled so badly of mold. Luckily it wasn't too hot when we were there and the ceiling fans helped. The on site laundry was nice but the price was much higher than expected. You have to buy a 10 card and then load it. The walk to Coconut marketplace was nice and the Longs Drugs next door is nice too. The beach was across a very buggy field. Unfortunately this beach wasn't really one to hang out at. Loaded with trees, bugs and very loose sand. Overall, the owners clearly went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed though, so I would definitely stay again after maintenance deals with some things. ##### KATIE W. It was near some cute shops, the beach, and easily accessible off the main highway so we could travel anywhere we wanted to on the island. We loved that there was a nice, well-kept pool/hot tub area. The apartment is very clean but is beginning to become a bit run down, with some of the plug-ins being a bit temperamental. Overall, we had a great time on Kauai and at this property. ##### Lexie F. The hot water was not working to the bathroom sink and it was fixed the next day without us even being present. The rental agency was very responsive and professional. These properties are at the perfect location and their amenities just what I need. I alway look to stay here. Not fancy but very nice and clean. Beach was beautiful but the surf was rough and deep. Swimming and snorkeling is not advisable. But the condo location made it easy to visit the other beaches and enjoy all the island has to offer. Pools were very clean but the bar-b-que pit did not work. The neighborhood has great shopping, markets, and restaurants. Much within walking distance. We had all the conveniences we wanted. ##### Diane S. Quiet place and lots of space. Had some fun treats and a bottle of wine to welcome us. We weren’t cooking but everything was there. Would stay here again. Only down side was when we walked to the beach it seemed like homeless, or campers. Not sure. It’s not really a beach to hang out on so no worries!!! Sooo many awesome beaches to enjoy!! The apartment was super clean and in a location that has a number of great restausrants, cafes and stores. About a 15 min drive from the airport. We wanted to explore a lot do the north side of the island which was about a 35-40 min drive but it’s a real scenic and beautiful trip in a car. Would definitely recommend ##### Kevin O. That was great. -:: Photos are not as accurate. Apartment needs a bit of tune up, bathroom, kitchen.. No washing machine or dishwasher in the apartment , the floor mop was dirty , asked for another and was told that this would be taken care of after we check out. The bed cover needed to be washed, especially throw pillows . This side of the island is windy , big waves, our teenager could not swim nearby, we had to drive to north shore beaches where it was calmer. It has nothing to do with apartment but something to keep in mind when booking. ##### Anfissa S. Walking distance to shops, food, etc. The beach is close but you need to walk just a little further down to be in a better spot to safely get in. The place was cute, lots of beach stuff to utilize on the balcony, fairly comfortable bed and a free bottle of wine. They did not have our reservation prepared for a late check in which they were informed about. We had to wait for quite some time in the middle of the night for them to text back and forth about our reservation to let us in. The following morning my husband had to go back to the office to get a key. We also got our key deactivated in the middle of our stay. Which was infuriating after a long day out and ready to rest. The cabinet doors were falling off. One sliding door will lock you out on the balcony. Thank goodness I was there to let my husband back inside. The bedroom AC is ridiculously loud. They only provide 1 roll of toilet paper so depending on the length of your stay it may not be enough. And for some strange reason the coffee was decaf. ##### Presley D.
